Mod Guide: Nerf MEGA Magnus (Comprehensive AR Removal, spring addition)

This is my comprehensive mod guide for the nerf MEGA Magnus, which is a sweet blaster. Its really easy to get some extra power out of it even without making any cuts or breaks to the rather locked down plunger assembly. Sorry for the video being so long, but I wanted the video to be all encompassing and I'd rather go long than leave out something helpful.

Thanks a lot! Thought I'd destroy my Magnus with an air restrictor that tough, but I've managed to remove it! Works like charm now. It was really helpful since my country sells a really weak version of Magnus (the gray trigger one) and AR removal was the only way to make the blaster shoot further than 7 meters.

FYI... a dremel at walmart with a small accessory kit included is running around 20-25 dollars USD. Hope that helps.. :)

Why does hasbro try to make things harder for modders? It doesn't have any benefits, if somebody is going to mod they're going to mod, not like they're discouraging it.

I think they are discouraging it, it even says on the blaster and in the manual "DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THE BLASTER".

Antimation Studios and yet the disc launchers like the illumatron actually have additional points on the spring tensioner to increase the load... also lets be honest, these blasters aren't exactly "mod discouraging".

Nice mods you did there. Well I did a completely different mod on my Magnus. I modded it to have Slamfire, but I did no other mods on it. I just did it because I feel like no one other did this before :)

Is it possible you could do a Sledgefire vid? I did a mod with my Barrel-Break where I took a Recon stock and integrated it into the handle, which turned quite well, actually. Afterwards, I started to realize that it was a little nice having just a shotgun-type blaster that wasn't stocked (if that's the correct term), and in your absence, I started to wander through other mod vids and found other peoples' take on the blaster. Plus, the Sledgefire doesn't really work well AT ALL unless you own recently new/ stronger darts, so a mod on how to make it better would be just, awesome. Thanks, and I actually may start the Magnus mod right now.

The lips that hold the darts in are usually referred to as mag lips. at least thats what i've always heard them called.

I'm calling it, people are gonna come here when the Deadpool Kronos/Phantom Corps Kronos comes out to figure out how to mod it, or at least, until Drac makes a mod guide. I mean, that's why I'M here. After I'm done watching this I'll check out Mag212's Magnus mod guide, and if neither of them includes how to do a slam-fire mod, I'll see if I can find a slam-fire mod guide for the Magnus. Haven't finished this vid at the time of typing this comment.

I didn't notice any big change in the prime when I added a Stampede spring. Question. Where did you place the Nitefinder spring on the main spring(centered, towards the front, towards the back, etc)?

easy to modd i cut the back off the plunger tube ,then remove the AR by dilling ,re-glue the tube back together,removed sum locks,, gets 75-80 feet ranges

The slide notches is absolutely nonessential. Mine snapped off on both sides and the screw at the front of the slide is more than sufficient

I don't know if I should post this on one of your other Magnus videos but what if you took a normal 8 dart nerf clip and made that the internal clip and cover it with some kind of material and make it match up with the rest of the blaster so it's still a internal clip but you have a bigger clip and it would look nice with a little paint so it dosent look just like the material and more like the rest of the blaster also another thing that you could or more of should if you haven't already make en bloc clips for internalized blaster clips

Guys don’t expect to watch these videos and learn everything about modding. On all mod vids brought to my attention subtle details are left out that could can and have damaged blasters either intentional or not that is the way it is expect to disassemble and have around a sixty two seventy percent chance of reassembly correctly . This is not a cut down of any tuber or mod video people in the least . But I spend a lot of time fixing blasters that are broken because of incomplete tutorials. Like your blaster leave it be .

No. You can't bring it forward with that kind of force by hand and the locks in the blaster prevent you from firing with it drawn back. So long as you leave those locks in, the blaster is perfectly safe.

Hey Drac, I need some help. When I went to fire my Magnus, I tried to prime it, but it got jammed and is stuck with the priming bar (the top of the blaster) backwards. Any ideas to unjam it? (Yes, I have tried the jam button, but it failed.
