Surely in the top 10 rock/metal singers. There are many many greats- Gillan, Plant, Osbourne was amazing on Sabo and SBS, Dio, Halford (as they say), Dickinson (as they say), Matijevič- Steelheart (although not much material), Kiske-Scorpions, Coverdale, Ray Gillen....

This is 4 months after open heart surgery and he’s 63. The crowd is young is the difference. In America it’s much older. I see Tate every year he comes to a tiny old theater 5 miles from my house. Im going tonight actually. Give him another 6 months and he’ll sound insane again. I see him every year so i can hear the tiny bit of him being winded and using the echo more. I have no doubt he’ll be insane in months if he’s this great after heart surgery.

I remember seeing him live in 2013. He definitely wasn't singing like this. If it came to the part of a high note, he would just skip over it. In 2015, his voice was sounding stronger, but still no highs. In 2017, he started throwing some in finally. And when I saw him live last year, he's sounded better than I've ever seen him live. I don't know what it is... Seems like the older he gets, the better he's getting!

He gave up smoking and drinking and retrained his voice, I saw him in May this year doing Rage and Empire back to back, he was superb, just got tickets for the Mindcrime shows next June. First saw him with QR supporting Dio in 85, he's 63 so to get even 50% of his range is impressive

When I used to play out in a band it was ALWAYS played between sets. But they went to shit when they tried to be Pink Floyd, but yeah. This album was in your face metal (I mean, it sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom at the Holiday Inn, but the music is so strong we'll overlook that.)

Believe it or not, Queensryche starts and ends with Scott Rockenfield , you lose Rockenfield, you've lost Q/R make no mistake about it , Kelly Gray did a phenom job steppin in for Christ and you barely knew he was not there, this drummer has the timing all fucked up, everyone is stepping all over the next guy because he can;t keep they rhythm

I love Geoff, but I think some of the high notes are piped in. If you look closely, a couple of the times he pulls the microphone away from his mouth, yet the high note is still going on in the background...

I can assure you Being in the front line He sang with reverb and pulled every note The high notes got muddier as time progressed because we couldn’t breath in the room because it was full of smoke He sang this after having sang the complete rage for order and empire albums… plus many encores I could hear the voice and was locked in his mouth cause I’m a singer myself Plus , we don’t use this kind of technology at small venues in Greece He is just a monster musician

I think queensryche is going to get back together. A big part of the reason the band booted him is because he wouldn't do any of the material older than mindcrime. He would only do the newer stuff that wasn't as popular with fans. Now that Tate has got his voice back into shape and can sing those songs again, they might as well get back together and make more money than they do split up.
