That BRC Yozansen crossup was the most electric thing at that tournament. The energy that entire set was massive, but that moment was phenominal from a spectator standpoint. I know it's all about winning, but the story of Baiken punching up through the bracket, through multiple top class HC mains, to that moment vs Leffen was monumental even if it resulted in a loss in the end. Love watching you hit the sticks LK.
@froggalexis10 ай бұрын
learning that LK's rationale to go for a mixup there was basically "fuck it, we optimize for HYPE and fucking with the opponent's head" makes that moment way fucking crazier. oh my LORD

This is my favorite content. Any time I can get a “glimpse” into the mind of top players as they analyze their matches, I am all ears. Thank you for this. You touched on a lot of abstract concepts for me to utilize when approaching matches

That Fenritti run was crazy. He very nearly qualified on multiple occasions, and I remember one of the commentators saying he had been in something like 3 separate grand finals in a three day span. Shoutouts to Kaz for creating 4 LCQ spots

To answer the question in the beginning of the video, Dota 2 did a last chance qualifier tournament for The International from 2012 to 2016, and then again for 2022.The 2012-2016 ones were either just a Bo5 between just 2 teams, or 4 team single elim tournaments. The 2022 LCQ was a full tournament with 12 teams, with the top 2 qualifying for TI. The two teams that qualified placed 2nd and 3rd at TI.

58:38 HC is a resource based demon who if presented with full resources? will reign darkness upon the land /s But in all seriousness it's because if he hits you again with the mixup? he will have a crazy situation post wall break into the next positive bonus. Since they reworked the meter build to be so fast in positive. He was probably going for throw > delay rc anyway and had a frc > combo > super in mind to put you in guess for game vs his zoning or his mix.

Yugioh also runs last chance qualifiers for the continent world championship qualifier events but they work very very differently to how fighting game lcq's work, people can keep attempting to enter in small brackets throughout the day to be entered into the very large main event's swiss bracket. although its rare someone makes it far enough in the wcq to qualify for worlds from entering off of the lcq, and iirc worlds itself has no lcq.

LCQ winners are often a favorite for deep runs. Who would you rather bet on, the guy who won the big tournament 11 months ago, or the guy who won the most stacked tournament yesterday? Especially in games where there's been multiple patches since the first qualifier got in...

It's easy to get mad at the training room. You lab a single situation that Baiken can take advantage of in a MU. The situation happens in tourney, you don't do what you trained to do. But I think its more hype to see how you adjusted the plan after your mistakes. Why'd you hover over Ram for first set? Think you realized how much you rather use one char for the whole tourney.
