Brilliant timing from my point of view. Been considering buying a used excavator instead of hiring one all the time as there's enough work to justify owning one. I'll be a lot more savvy when looking for a machine now. It's true what you say, never be too proud to ask someone else for advice.... no-one knows everything. 👍👍
@seanworkman4312 жыл бұрын
Sound advice on what to look for, all I can add is what are you planing to do with the machine and buy accordingly. If it's a farm and you have a workshop then you can save some coin on the initial purchase, if it is working on site spend a bit more to save on downtime. A small machine can do an awful lot but a big machine will do it faster.

Next year I'm getting new Volvo EWR150E for my contracting company. I decided to go with brand new one because in Poland most of used excavators are in very bad condition, it's hard to find something worth buying - traders imports only the worst ones, because they're the cheapest in the west and they can earn much more😞 Greetings from Poland! Very interesting vid Mucka 👍 lots to think about, when we brought second hand tractor dad n I talk about who going to servicing n maintenance n do require necessary tools/parts. Reading service book helps, buying from dealership I then factor in cost but auctions you could talk to your servicing mechanic in servicing cost. Interesting is paint condition, after clean up, I would get vinyl rap to protect paint.

Hi, how big machine do you need for hammering stone lot, i have a lot that is approx 1000 square meters all in lime stone, i need to takeout approx 50-60 cm of it to level it, would 2.5 or 5 ton machine do the job?

@@LordMuck I am planning to buy excavator and do it my self as here in Croatia few guys iv'd asked ask 15000 to 20000 euros to do it, for that money i think i can buy decent 2.5 tonner and do it myself and sell the machine later and maybe come even out, so time is not an issue, so your saying 2.5 tonner would do the job? Of course in longer amount of time, how stresfull is to smaller hammer? What is lifespan of such machines ? Thanks for your help!

You can inspect a machine all you can but I like it to run, even a muck (dry, no pun intended) run without actually digging. I do use my ass, ears and nose for vibrations, noises and smells. This plus what you added. Use all the senses and your head, it's not the only machine for sale. Earlier this year I bought a mobile excavator for my boss in the Netherlands, 9000 km away. Searching the internep for weeks and had two favorites and one that I added for comparison. In the end I bought the last one because the pictures didn't do it right and it felt way better than my "favorites". This to my surprise, we have worked over 500 hrs with her and it's freaking nice machine, Only two broken hoses in that time. Witch is nothing for a 10 year old machine with 14.000 hrs. She's better than the specs on paper. Always interesting to buy machinery. My tropical two cents, Do Well

When you buy used you're always taking a risk..... And it's a battle between you the buyer and the cellar. you want it cheap so if something wrong you have enough room to fix it and the cellar always thinks his machine is top of the line and he wants top dollars for his shit...... Bottom line you get it cheap or you walk away even folks with plenty of years of buying and selling I've gotten shafted
