Great. Enabled me to breach my technophobia. Dryer now working fine.

All of these videos are very helpful. Fixing appliances and machines of every sort used to be commonplace but when people began getting too much money they started discarding broken appliances and buying new ones and a culture of waste replaced a culture of repairing broken things. Maybe soaring interest rates will shock people back to their senses. Knowing how to fix things never goes out of date. Hats off to this well informed technician.

Is that a large capacitor near the heater element cable connector? If so, will it be holding a charge that could harm you if touched?

Thanks for the vid. My dryer is a hotpoint aquarius tvm570 it's getting warm just not hot. Could it be the thermostat or something different. Thanks

If the heating element has gone then it wouldn't normally get warm at all
@lindseystevenson6876Ай бұрын
Just changed the heating element it is the same make and model as the one shown but still not heating up. What could still be the problem?
@haneesabegum13009 ай бұрын
My new heating element didn’t come with the little plastic clip that goes into hold the wire in place and now I’m worried about it catching fire
@Dooomkiddo11 ай бұрын
Can you hoover inside the tumble dryer to remove the lint or should you just brush/wipe it?
@lords-electrical11 ай бұрын
You can vacuum it out that's no problem, and sometimes its easier to reach with a vacuum rather than trying to wipe it out.
@PhyllisGlassup2TheBrim8 ай бұрын
If I want to remove the heating element completely, would removing it like shown, still allow the tumbling to work? I don't need my washing dried, I need it tumbled and the air sucked out to get the dog hairs off my clothes.
@lords-electrical8 ай бұрын
Yes, in theory if you remove the heating element then it should still rotate and tumble but without trying it i wouldn't be 100% sure.

Just followed everything to a tee, very simple and easy to follow. However I now can see a small amount of smoke coming from the drum on the first attempt. Is this normal for a new heating element? Could it just be dust from where I’ve cleaned it out and loosened thing? Don’t know whether it is now safe to use??
@lords-electrical7 ай бұрын
Really difficult to comment on this. They will have a small amount of dust on but it shouldn't really be smoking. Be very careful and don't leave unattended if you are not sure.
@smudger3047 ай бұрын
@@lords-electrical thanks for the quick reply, have left to run for a bit and the smell and smoke have gone. It was more of a haze than full on smoke so could have been dust. All seems good now

Hey mate , Just followed this video yesterday and yay my heater now works but today it’s making a vibrating noise . Should so be worried? Just to add that some of the black seal from the back panel was broken and came off which I didn’t replace just in case that is the issue possibly . Can it blow up when replacing or would it cut out if there becomes an issue ?? There’s no smell and it’s working like a dream apart from noise and it’s never been cleaner lol
@lords-electricalКүн бұрын
That does sound odd that its making a vibrating noise. The black seal shouldn't really make that much of a difference but it could be if enough has been removed then it is causing a vibrating sound. It shouldn't blow up, but as long as the new element has been installed correctly then it should work and be fine

Next, how to mend the Hadron Collider, with its subatomic composite particles, composed of Quarks held together by Force , the same way Atoms and Molecules are held by a Electromagnetic force, You May need a couple of days revision and a cheeky wee bunch of screwdrivers.......
@lords-electrical Жыл бұрын
I would need a large bunch of screwdrivers as its 27km long!! At least once its repaired i could get some Higgs Boson or Top Quark from it. 😃

I have heat but my towel ls are wet any ideas ????
@lords-electrical5 ай бұрын
If the washing is wet, then i would try spinning it in the washing machine for a bit longer to try and extract more water out of the clothes first. Its strange that its getting warm, but its not drying though?
@stuartcareless95505 ай бұрын
@lords-electrical Yes it is strange, It's like it could be lacking air flow. But I cannot find any information on it. I had a towel that was dryed on a washing line I stuck that in to see if the drying function would make the towel soft. It came out soaked ? This has what has made me look into it more. I removed the towel a whole load of heat comes out of the machine bit the towel is soaked ?
