Thank You! - Having watched your video - and finding a screen-grab of the circuit diagram on the web - I was able to go through the various combinations of the 4 wire heater connector to trace the fault to the lower element, with the upper element and thermostats all OK. 😊👍

Superb. Thanks a LOT for sharing. I've been this morning in a hotel here in Spain, trying to repair a Hyundai condenser tumble dryier. The motor and fan worked fine, filters are clean, both klixons were ok, as well as the rear and front NTC's. The resistances didnt seem ok, as I got weird values (about 300 kohm for low and high resistances) After dismantling the back of the machine and checking all the components I just mentioned, I switched the machine on, to see again what happens. The machine didnt start, because the problem now was that the display showed error E5, which is Open Door, even though the door was closed. Before, this error didnt appear. I took out the front panel to have fully access to the door microswitch, and after checking it with the tester, I confirmed it worked ok. The wire coming into the microswitch comes from the supply wire, and the wire coming out goes down (instead of going to the electronic card), to the area were the motor is, which causes I couldn't track it (as I had to leave soon), and check for any wire interruptions, which would be a reason for showing Open Door error. Since this is not an old machine, and a relatively well maintained one, my diagnostic is that there's a problem with the electronic card, as well as with the resistances. Another thing is, the user told me that apart from not heating, the differential switch often cut the power while the machine was working, althoug not always. In fact I didnt see it happen.

I just changed my heating element in hotpoint machine. Everything seems fine but it was off for a month so not sure if I’m smelling smoke? Would changing the element cause that?

Great video. Would it be possible to tell me if there are any other thermostats along with their location (apart from the heating element unit thermostats) on an Indesit (idc8t3) condenser TD ? Not heating, tested the element and thermostats on the heating element-unit and I have continuity and circa 45/92 Ohm for single/both elements. Still no heat, motor, drum, pump are all good.....a little perplexed, but there must be another thermostat somewhere, just not sur where. Hope you can help (fingers crossed).

I purchased one of those small ‘portable dryers’ from Amazon. 110volt. It worked great for 3 months and now it doesn’t even turn on,Heat,timer,tumble. Nada. Nothing works outlet has power. I paid over $300 USD 3-4,years ago. Now,I’m afraid to buy a new one and brand. Any ideas of what a new dryer would cause this ? Danke.

my indesit tumble dryer doesn't heat enough, stats are good beside the element and element itself is good. What could be the issue? cos if i dismantle my dryer further to locate other stats they would show continuity on the multimeter. How would i know if any of them is faulty?

I have this machine how do you test if the timer is faulty checked everything else per your video and ok any advice would be helpful. My machine is just out of warranty and us totally dead.
@How-to-repair Жыл бұрын
I'm unable to tell you the wires to test because this manufacturer does not give me the workshop manual for the wiring, but I would say if you have 240 V going to the timer then you know everything is good and if you have tested all the other components, this would point me in the direction of telling you that the timer could be faulty glad we could help you @rogerstroud4102 this is for you kzbin.infoe432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. Good tutorial. It is a shame that indesit/hotpoint don't have any vented models that have sensor dry. You can't get a hotpoint/indesit condenser machine with sensor dry for under ~£297 either whereas beko sell them for just £220.

Followed your video as we have the same model. You didn't mention the reset on the thermostat on the SIDE of the heater that causes the dryer to run cold. Press a paper clip into the hole until you feel it click. Test it on your multimeter for continuity too. Why this isn't the old 'red button' I don't know!?
@How-to-repair2 жыл бұрын
Some of the thermostats do not have a reset button. You are lucky. Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year. glad we could help you @radioman1170 this is for you kzbin.infoe432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
