One thing Fextralife forgot to mention on the Dark Crusader is that his throwable also heals. If you throw it at your feet or hold the button to charge it it'll heal a decent chunk of health. Works in a pinch during a fight, but is best used to keep yourself topped off when going from fight to fight to save on your good heals.

@KamadakeX No problem. The only thing the starter/hidden classes do is give you additional point in certain stats, gear,spells, and weapons that are obtainable at different parts of the game, so like early access for a late game spell for instance. But like I said it's all obtainable in game.

@@NONxXxFiction A Paladin build is really strong in this game. It might start off a bit slow, but once you get a decent Radiance stat and start upgrading the right gear, it's beastly in both melee combat and ranged casting. I started with the Dark Crusader and added Agony's Light catalyst, Pieta's Sword, and the Bloody Glory grand sword. May weapons get scaling mostly from Radiance, so I have a lot of points that can be allocated elsewhere like for stamina and health.

Putrid Child: Takes by far the most effort to unlock. Also Putrid Child: Has the worst items, spells, and catalyst of any secret starting class and its amulet is replaceable with better options in the first hour of gameplay. Why couldn't we have at least gotten a really good weapon like Ellianne's Sword.

The class is awesome to make people want to try to do it without beacons but the one for all beacons is pretty good too and I'm not good enough of a player ever at the start of these type games to want to try to do it without bonfires in the blind. Definitely getting Umbral Class for first playthrough as there is no class that can start out with umbral magic At least with Radiance and Inferno you already have the option just weaker Few notes about the class You start off with a pretty good weapon with B scaling on both stats at +10 and its a short sword

Ahh yes, Dark Crusader. The "weakest". That armor singlehandedly hard carries a lot of fights, and the one handed R1 attacks are pure gold for mob clear.

PS5 here and no issues. Turn off motion blur and also turn off HDR. For a lot of people, HDR is bugging for them and making the game have issues running at 60fps

Yes, I play on performance mode and there are constant FPS drops, so it doesn't not feel like smooth 60 FPS.

Be careful even with the Radiant ending, you can fail it and not get any class. That happened to me. Cleansed all beacons but never did the rune of adyr properly i guess. I fought adyr and never got the radiant class at the end. Have to speedrun NG+ now for it

I wanna let you know your info on “you can light beacons and still do the Umbral ending” is a lie. If you light the beacon you cannot give damarose the seedpod. So it locks you out immediately

You cannot change your class mid game so you cannot use them in NG+. The classes unlock for new characters. That said, all the equipment they use is available in game as you play so you can just put it on.

With the exception of Dark crusader they are unlocked depending on which ending you do. So at the very least you need to beat the game 3 times to get all classes

You can still play umbral. Like any starting class they are just low level optimized to build on from there. But you can just turn any class into an umbral build as you move through the game normally so you’re only missing out on a small head start on your first playthrough. And you’ll get all the stuff the class starts with eventually anyway.

My concern with this is that *starting classes are used at the start of the game, so to have to play through the game 3 times to have all starting classes upon character creation is self-defeating because you'd be burnt-out of the game having played it so much.* Even if you started each NG with each new class unlocked from any given ending, why would you bother playing beyond that? Would you ever feel like playing the game yet again because its never the game itself that changes? Unlike with games like Nioh2. And even then, you can make any class into anything once you find weapons/items and level a certain way so... like, this all seems like a very muddled reward/incentive system. If however, the world itself changed with each ending and playing with an unlocked class, then I could see some replayability but as it stands, I almost don't see any point playing through the game more than once.

I think it annoys me that these are misable and locked out of getting them all in one run. Like now you need to know how to unlock them on your first playthrough so you can get atleast one, to then start with that play that and then unlock another. Thing is if you don't look them up you'd never know and going in blind means you miss out on some fun options for second and third playthroughs. Seems like you can either go in blind then have more work to do in other runs or look up a guide and ruin things but save yourself a lot of trouble. Wish you could unlock them all before the end.

They need to nerf poison on bosses. I am seeing bosses get cheesed. It doesn't look healthy for the game when a boss is easily cheesed by poison. Just nerf the amount of time they are poisoned and a lower poison buildup. Like they are poisoned for a fixed amount of time. Like 7 seconds or something. It is healthier imo.

Like...they shoulda offered something unique. Aint not point...and you gotta essentially look up a guide for everythign (or you are a liar/data-miner) which takes the fun out of that part too cuz this game locks you out of questing by like touching an elevator and stupid triggers. Elden ring was confusing AF but at least I could hit up 99% of the quests at any point. I like the game overall but the unlockable classes are offering nothing...literally have all of this already lol - and the quests to unlock them are annoying. My character now is liek a more optimized version of the putrid child, and I have his armor (not wearing it) and no wasted stat points, and his weapon....all of it.. lol. But yeah let me follow a 300 step wiki to unlock it xD

I got a 4090ti and other high end rig components. Etc. this game runs like UNKEMPT ASS. Really awful stuttering. I want to enjoy it but I will wait until it’s patched before I try again. Refunded.

No you don't have to, but to play the new classes yes you have to make a new character. (all their equipment and spells are found in game so you could just put it on too)
