Patch was expedited/released today for Xbox. Same patch that PS5 and PC received at launch. Much better now thankfully but still needs alot of work. Especially in Coop. Hopefully it won't take too many patches to make this game perfect but then again this is 2023. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best 😂

The difference is exactly like on consoles with VRR enabled. The further you move away from 120hz, the more raised the blacklevel will become. It is still rather minor, not something which really stands out, but you can test it easily on PC. Compare a really dark scene with 60FPS vs 120FPS with VRR enabled.

Hello GamingTech, I was just hoping to ask you a question about your S95C. I’m looking to possibly buy one this week while it’s $1000ca off at Best Buy. I was just curious I if you had personally ever experienced the black screen drop outs while gaming that I hear many of the KZbinrs talking about? My use case will be the 3 main consoles (SeriesX/PS5/Switch) much like yourself and I was just hoping to hear that you have not had these issues to maybe help instil a little confidence, thanks.

There's been stores in UK that were not sent Xbox series x versions of game but PS5 version was in good supply, but Australia was the opposite and PS5 versions were not available. I've noticed UK especially Xbox is not being stocked. It makes me wonder what the volume of manufacture is now on physical media. Must press a limited number based on sales projection.

I usually love your content but this is very misleading in terms of the games visuals with hdr on PS5... This games washed out visuals are directly linked to the poor hdr implementation. Now I understand you test black levels and other aspects of hdr and in this case somehow concluded that it was creative intent that Made the game look so bad but it's just not true. Compare the color/black depth on pc to ps5 with hdr on and you can immediately see just how much is lost with it on. Turn it off and increase contrast and it's a night and day difference on PS5. You are loosing so much in terms of visuals if you leave it on, whether you have an oled or not.

You had it right the first time. First off, you should just straight up use HGiG. Then adjust in-game brightness so it’s not so dark. If that’s still too dark for you, then yes, turn on DTM after the HGiG calibration. Never calibrate with DTM on. DTM gives a highly inaccurate reading. With DTM on on an LG C2 OLED, it takes 24 presses to calibrate the white screen on PS5. With HGiG on, it takes 11 (though for some reason I’ve seen one guy who pressed it 14 times to get rid of the symbols. I have no idea why, because his settings looked just like mine and mine took 11). With DTM calibration, Alan Wake 2 thinks the TV has a peak brightness of 3,400. Lol. With HGiG calibration, it shows around 800-850 (something like that, depending on if you do 11 or 14 presses). That’s how inaccurate and overly bright DTM is. Honestly, even if you think HGiG is a little dark after changing a game’s in-game settings, stick with it. We all naturally feel like brighter is better, but once you get used to it not lighting up your whole room, the colors, detail and highlights look so much better. It’s like cranking up the color and using your TV’s Vivid mode (or whatever it’s called on your display). It looks all super colorful and you think that’s great, but then you use a more natural setting like a Cinema mode, and cut that color down and realize how much detail you were missing, because it was oversaturated.

Someone please try to help me understand this. Is it possible that people somehow receive different HDR implementations for the same game even though they're on the same console (or different console)??? This is yet another game where people either say the HDR is great or terrible. This doesn't make any sense to me as a bad hdr implementation is the most obvious thing in the world as it washes out the entire picture, raises the blacks and mutes all the colors. I remember having to immediately turn off hdr when I got Hogwarts for my Series X on my C9 OLED because it washed out the picture. When I asked for confirmation on bad hdr, some guy with the same tv playing on PlayStation said that it looked perfect to him. Claimed that the issues I was having weren't there for him. I really didn't wanna believe him and just thought of him as ignorant because I had never heard of any reports of people receiving different implementations of hdr for the same game. But I've now heard this several times. Is it a possibility that some people are getting the correct implementation while others aren't??? That just doesn't make sense to me. And yes, I'm fully aware that many displays aren't capable of true HDR and just use it as a gimmick to sell their TVs/monitors.

HDR is very washed out on pc, so increasing the contrast was necessary to get a better image. Running on a Samsung G8 OLED gaming monitor (not a TV).

Dolby vision looks better to me on Xbox than hgig. Brighter picture with better colors. Maybe they’ve patched things since this video has been made but the only difference betweeen hgig and DV from what I can see is that DV has a brighter image and the colors are better too. @@EverythingPS5ProOnly OLED, thats why fine tune dark areas was invented on LG OLEDs. Not a big deal though. When you play between 60-80FPS I would set fine tune dark areas usually around -3. If you can keep 100-120FPS, you usually don't need fine tune dark areas. But if there is a game with additional black level raise, you can set it to whatever you want. Just make sure that you can maintain shadow detail.

Nobody on PC plays with VRR, i dont think anybody will face that. Gsync or Freesync or for complettness Gsync compatible has no Problem with HDR in this Game. I tested it and no difference in HDR.

I watched the video on HDR, amazing how much depth can a video get with HDR, even a simple one. Anyways, this is my first impression, first impact, only graphics related , on PC and I am disappointed. Basic graphics, everything it's just basic.Where is UE5? I can't see it. Reflections looks like shyte, water looks like shyte, some weird fuzziness going on there aswell. The performance seemed pretty good, I got around 100 fps in 4k DLSS Quality on High settings, (only shadows and view distance on medium) on 3080ti and 11900K. The classes though, look veeeeeeeery interesting, it might actually be a good game, regardless of the mediocre graphics presentation, I will keep playing it.

I think 50 contrast may be too low, looks a little washed. I'm on ps5 on my C1 and I bumped it up to 70 with 65 saturation.

Strange you didn't have those options. May still be bugs to be ironed out. But it's quit a few people complaining of a washed picture. I think 50 is a bit too low though. I wouldn't go past 70. Somewhere between 60 - 70.

@@lewis6720 Edit: So I played some more on my Sony X900F with HDR disabled. Seems like (to me) this is the best option. Bright LCD screen with HDR off. O washed out picture. Everything looks good.(end Edit) Played more last night. I now have the Contrast &.Saturation option after a 1.9GB update. I set the contrast high, like around 80. I previously had the Brightness at 70 (from using the in game sliders instructions). I found this to also be part of the problem. I put that back to the default of 50. The picture is better with these settings, but it's still washed out. I'm also playing with DTM on. I did try HGIG, but (to me) it's too dim. The overall picture does look better in HGIG (to me) though I also set the Game Black Level to 45, Black Stabilizer to 8, and Fine Tune Dark Area to -10 in Game Optimizer on my C3 That's about the best I could do to get something that looks semi acceptable to me. Regarding the game itself, it's pretty decent. Playing in Performance Mode. Haven't had the framerate issues others are complaining about, but I'm also using VRR. 1 thing I DON'T like is the lantern stuff. I figured the devs felt like they needed a gimmick to set the game apart from other Souls like clones
