PS5 + LG OLED55B13LA. Why are black level and colors broken in 120Hz mode?

Recently i buyed Tcl c805 tv 55 inch (acourding to display specifications 1 300 nits of peak brightness), and i can`t decide right settings for my ps5 hdr calibration. Should i activate local dimming before ps5 hdr calibraton, hgig enabled, dynamic tone mapping disabled (sun dissapears - first 16 clicks - around 1137 nits, second - 15 clicks (985 nits). After that i activate DTM Balance because without it picture looks dim. Or i must disable local dimming, disable DTM, Hgig on (Then sun dissapears first at 12 clics (around 634 nits) second also 12 clicks, then i activate DTM balance. Please share with your opinion, thanks for attention and forgive my english)

Quick recap, don't change any settings (leave at default), specular highlights are too high and cannot be changed.

I wanted to say thank you because thanks to your videos I "discovered" the HDR analysis shader and can now take a look and fiddle around with ingame settings myself. But don't worry, since this doesn't make me an expert on HDR or HDR settings I will continue watching your videos. :)

Bethesda confirmed the balanced and ray tracing modes on PS5/Series X are the exact same. 4K/60 on balance mode and 1800p on ray tracing mode. It's only in 120hz mode you see the Series X pull ahead. 1800p/120 on XSX and 1560p/120 on PS5, but PS5 holds that 120fps much better due to lower resolution.

Yo here my settings for the C1 and PS5: PS5 HDR settings: HGIG First two steps one click till the sun dissapears. Third step go down till you can't no more. (Total black) So far so good. If you want the perfect contrast, black and light in the game try: 249 1,35 It looks like a hole new game. I think that a lot of people never set the hdr settings in the games really right. This is the reason why people always say that some games not really look like a PS5 game. Everything looks perfect now. Specially the lights. ✌️

Well Im feeling really good about my CX right now. I wanted to upgrade it to either the C3, C4, G3 or the Samsung s90D. If anyone has these and can tell me if there would be a noticeable difference when gaming and watching hdr movies I would love to hear about it.

I know it's late...but the color management system setting on PC is grayed out for me, using LG CX and RTX 4070. Should I still do the 2 point calibration ? I can edit that.

I have a 2 year old Samsung QN90A and if you know about them, very bright TV in all room lighting conditions and HDR10+. I have the series X and the app gives me MaxTML: 6900 and MaxFFTML: 8100. In the TV settings, I have the brightness and contrast up to max (both 50) as recommended. Contrast enhancer off and Gamma ST.2084

loving these money tours. The problem with the Pixio P277 OLED MAX is that (at least where I am) it's priced roughly in line with the big name brands (like LG) despite not being a big-name brand. I can get a 27 inch LG OLED monitor with better specs (and HDMI 2.1) for the same price or even slightly less. In that situation, why would I take a chance on a Pixio monitor? They need to be more realistic in terms of pricing in my opinion.

My blacks were extremely bad in very dark spots to the point it was ging me a headache i turned off hdr on the game used hdr in ps5 and tv and works good now

I've been using ps5 with lg c4 oled. I calibrated the ps5 using hgig then I started elden ring and messed with it for hours. I switched to dtm on and left hdr calibration alone. Game settings according to this video. Brightness 5 max brightness 1000 saturation 7. Rpg game mode color depth 55. Sharpness 10. And also oled panel Brightness down to 80. This is the best looking I've found i believe

@GamingTech, Thanks for your work. Imho your explanations about HGIG vs DTM is one of the best on Internet. Great job! Long time I (like most people) like the DTM on for it's brigtness and vibrancy, but now I prefer Game Optimizer with HGIG. With calibrated Playstation5 (or XBox) HDR it looks nearly perfect now. Just a shame that not a lot of Games support HGIG nativly.

For a SONY X90J TV using a PS5 which is the recommended calibration in the game, how much brightness and blacks?
