We visited Plymouth, Massachusetts, site of the Mayflower landing. Then on to Boston, where we visited the Massachusetts Statehouse then Cheers, the bar that inspired the TV show. The last third of the video is a road trip from Boston to Dallas, Texas.
Cities driven through:
Providence, Rhode Island
New Haven, Connecticut
Bridgeport, Connecticut
White Plains, New York
Allentown, Pennsylvania
Knoxville, Tennessee
Nashville, Tennessee
Memphis, Tennessee
Dallas, Texas

Joe and Nic. I want to make sure you know how grateful we (I am) are that you did this trip and shared it with us. Your consistent factual format with your personal commentary was fantastic. This pseudo-anthropological tour is unlike anything I’ve seen before. It was informative and entertaining. Your calm documentary style delivery interspersed with tidbits with your travel companion, Nic, was watchable every episode. I’m an airline pilot and travel too, but I kept coming back again and again to see where your adventures took you and what your ‘take’ was on the places and sights you visited. My personal and sincere thanks for this series. Enjoy your time home!

Your remarks were said so eloquently Much better than I ever could but I'm certain that we all agree. I've been with them not from the start but close to it. Each week, I look forward to a new adventure. In fact, I am planning to post their link on my social media sites. This channel is too interesting not to share.

I also enjoyed that drive home. In Harrisburg, you passed over the Susquehanna River, it’s probably as wide as the Mississippi, but doesn’t carry as much water. I’m planning a trip to the Knoxville area, so it was nice to see what 81 looked like. Rest well.

Thank you. Massachusetts native, now in Maine. Lived in Boston late 1960s to mid 1980s. In the early 1970s, the Cheers bar was a real neighborhood bar, the Bull & Finch. I used to go there with my friends to drink beer and play darts. The upstairs space was a sort of dance hall. Then Hollywood came.

I lived in Boston's north shore suburbs in the 1980s-90s and to this day still miss living there. In October 1992 I watched the cast of Cheers film some intro scenes that came before the opening credits. In one, Woody rolls up on his bicycle and chains it to a parking meter. He starts to go inside but then turns around to put change in the meter. In another, Norm and Cliff are just hanging out on the street talking when some guy pulls up in a Jaguar and thinks Cliff in his mailman uniform is a valet parker and gives him his keys. Cliff and Norm seize the opportunity by getting into the cool expensive car and go cruising. Thousands of us were gathered to watch the filming of these episodes. Cheers was a great show and I never get tired of watching the reruns.

It’s nice to see The Mayflower again. The last time I saw it was at Brixham in the mid 50’s whilst it was being built. We went on a school trip from Plymouth UK and I was 12 years old. I can remember the smell of the Oak. Hard to imagine it was once at the cutting edge of sea transportation. We really enjoy your travels, keep on producing your films. Thanks. Colin.

What an awesome way to end the trip. The state and the history, and the drive back set to that awesome music. Just wanted to say, we've been watching the videos you guys make for several months now and it's been such a great escape from the hard parts of life, occasionally stirs up memories for the places we know, and really gets the gears going about places we could maybe go to live someday. Even if this trip is done, I think it's something people will discover and watch for years to come. Thanks for the ride.

I loved your video. FYI while visiting the Baltic States of Eastern Europe in the early 2000’s we took the opportunity to pull off the highway out in the country. We visited a cemetery that seemed in the middle of nowhere to us visitors. The cemetery was very old and had remnants of the former Soviet Union in a lot of the designs of the headstones… Lots of families in this area have made their family plots into little parks of sorts; with benches, iron fences and decorated gates. We found out that families often visit their family’s graves on holidays, etc. for gatherings and picnics. 4 years ago our oldest son, 40 yrs old, died very unexpectedly. We buried him in a little country cemetery 1/4 mile from our home(easy walking distance). My husband and I are the caretakers of the cemetery. We visit our son there often. When our daughter was home with her 3 children for Easter this year- we had an Easter Egg Hunt at the cemetery so we could include our son, brother and uncle in our fun. So, the thought of have gatherings in cemeteries is not morbid to us at all…..

Fantastic video of the trip back to Dallas, I drove a new school bus from North Carolina in 1988 and went north at Knoxville to Lexington on my way to the bus dealer in Minnesota

We took that same route from Fredericksburg VA to Dallas TX 29 years ago for our last relocation with my husband's job. Can't imagine living anywhere else! Thanks for the ride!

What a great run and I was able to see man places for the 1st time, thank you both. Heading back to Dallas has got to be a relief because I lived there and it was the best 10 years of my life.

Really enjoyed your video! Just a note, in case no one else brought it up, Captain John Smith and Pocahontas were associated with the settlement in Jamestown, Virginia (1607). Sorry, used to be a high school history teacher . . . 😁
