As a beginner swimmer of 3-4 months, I had to pull up a kid who was struggling to stay afloat but the effort the kid up was making to keep his head up almost made me go down. It for sure wasn't as smooth as this.

Then you hold your breath, sink and use your hands on their stomach to push them away. Keep doing so until you can grab a hold of them correctly from the back and help them

Im actually a lifeguard so what i can say is that typically not all people should be rescuing any drowning victim. If they are active, then it's a sure-fire way to put both of you in more danger. You need something for conscious victims to grab onto to to float, we have rescue tubes. Other than that, a passive victim is easier to rescue as you don't need to worry about them latching on and not letting go. Escape method for someone latching onto you is to grab under their biceps and just push up and away.
@harrytawlks5892 Жыл бұрын
that's why u should always be rescuing a conscious casual with a torpedo body so u can do a defensive block on them.

The best way to save someone who is struggling in the water is to have a floating device with you. IF YOU ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL, DO NOT EVER TRY TO RESCUE SOMEONE WITHOUT A FLOATING DEVICE.

I was a kid at summer camp when I wanted to teach some other kid how to swim. It was a very shallow beach, with no drops at all. We spent some time out, played, I showed him the frog but he struggled a little. So while walking around (the water was to our chins but we could stand) he would sink in a small hole, 2x5m maybe. Nothing huge and only like 50cm deeper. You can hop up and catch air while you hope to shallower water. Anyway, he panicked, I try to help and he kept pushing my head under water, so after a while I elbowed him and dragged him by his hairs to the dry all the way.

I became a lifeguard last summer and now work as an emt now but I always like reviewing every summer so I don’t forget these skills because you never know when someone will drown even if it’s at a party event or something like that. Even if you’ve never been a lifeguard awareness and knowledge even the interest of it can come in handy if god forbid anything happens around you. Even before I was a lifeguard I was saying people from drowning because I had knowledge from KZbin.

Hello I’m a med student if you give CPR to someone who drowned you should start with 5 breaths and then continue as you normally would with the 30 chest compressions and 2 breaths. Just thought it might be good to know

if you're in a situation where you need saved, here is the most critical information i can give you. Stop moving when you feel something grab you. your efforts to keep yourself afloat will end up dragging the other person down, and will kill you both. Once you feel something grab you, relax body, and focus entirely on maintaining your breath. additionally, mouth-to-mouth does not work in cpr, focus entirely on chest compressions to the beat of "staying alive" by the beegees. Break. A. Rib. If you're not going too hard, you're not going hard enough.

When in the real situation, even you performed it right like in this video, the victim tends to suffocate from tiny splash of wave get inside his/her nose and won’t be fully float. Any advice?
@pro-sportcko.p.s.27866 ай бұрын
The saving procedure I learnt during my course was quite a bit diferent from this video. Submerged victim is brought to the surface at an angle, not straight up. Checking for breathing certainly much closer to mouth, so you can hear and better observe chest rise. When jumping in the water, never dive under water always keep your eyes on the drowning person. Approach feet first so you can kick them off of you, if they´re active. And this was all under ARC course and in Europe as well.

@jerryhall5709 Жыл бұрын
It's difficult to float vertically because of the smal surface of the body being pushed upwards by the water.

So I could not turn and swim backwards with them. Luckily there was a pier nearby and someone noticed and threw a ring to us.
