Nairobi is fun. You found the parties, but you didn't find the real "backdoor parties". I have stumbled into a few. Kenyans are fun to have spontaneous conversations with, but they tend to be opportunists due to socio-economic reasons - so you have to be very discerning who you call a "friend". Sometimes when they hear that American accent, its now you assumed to be paying for their brunch, dinner, drinks etc
