Super interesting that in one of the previous streams you've mentioned that the name Thomas comes from a word for "twin" because with that in mind, the first thing I thought of when I saw that poster is that "seine" in German means "his" so that would make Zane's full name "his twin"... very subtle, Remedy.

One of his titles is Thomas the Rhymer thought it might be a play on Rhine (Rhine r) the river so referencing but changing his original last name and his other title Tom the poet. So Thomas Rhine. Also it’s similar to House of Leaves referring to Anne Danielewski in the novel “ a poe t”(and Poe is in this game.) Also parallels them turning Mr. Martin (Named after Mars Roman God of War)Hatch into Mr. Warlin Door.

There is a distinct possibility that Alan and Saga are the Children of the Elder Gods described in the song. The "children" in the song are clearly described as Hugin and Munin (Thought and Memory), Odin's ravens, being dark black and clawed. Consider Saga and Alan's respective Mind Places: Saga's "Field Office" Mind Place is her way of cataloging her investigations, holding her memories of her cases; Alan's Writer's Room (his version of the Mind Place) has his storyboard, allowing him to organize his thoughts and plan his narratives. These are the two parautilitarians who will be involved in the destruction of the Dark Presence (and it is worth remembering that under the influence of the Cauldron Lake Moonshine, the Andersons can see the future). They are also the ones who have the taken up the mantle of the Torchbearers.

I don’t think Jesse’s memories were altered by looking behind the door, I think she just accepted that she was “wrong”, because everyone else remembered a film maker and all evidence pointed towards a filmmaker. Her first instinct is still to remember him as a poet because she’s seeing through the story, but she corrects herself afterwards to what she thinks is the truth.
@TheAsylumCat8 ай бұрын
There is audio logs of her mentioning the poems she had in a shoe box, and the FBC agent disguised as a therapist "correcting" her. (Likely unintentionally gaslighting)
@Torr36978 ай бұрын
@@TheAsylumCat yeah, exactly! You only know you’re right if you know that something has changed reality, after all how often has everyone remembered something wrong only to have it corrected later. Jesse probably thinks it’s just the Mandela effect, like the Bearenstein bears (actually Bearenstain bears) or Tostino’s pizza (actually Totino’s pizza). It’s much easier to believe that you just consistently remember something wrong than to believe that everyone’s memory and all evidence has been changed, especially when you’re talking about something from that many years ago. Same way Saga would probably know Thomas Zane as a filmmaker, because being able to see through the story only means your memory won’t be changed, it doesn’t mean that you’ll instantly know the truth. Saga only knows what she’s learned, and if some of those things have been altered from their original form she wouldn’t be able to know. Same with Jesse, she doesn’t know everyone else has been altered, she only knows that she remembers a book of poetry she read as a kid that she apparently got the author mixed up with some other filmmaker, and everything and everyone she could ask would support that.

Happy to see someone else find the Clicker's role in this story a little strange. It seems like most people just take it at face value. If anything, it's such a weird swap from one sort of MacGuffin to another that I'd like to think it was Alan's idea. Like, by giving The Clicker that much importance, clicking it becomes the one detail that needs to align for the rest of the story to happen. Cheat your way out of your own limitations.

5:51:04 "Like I said: weak point in reality." Urban legends are powerful anchor points that the Dark Presence can use - if someone reenacts the legend, the Dark Presence can reach through it to corrupt the people involved. One of the pages, either the one you supposedly missed or one in the Overlap, explains that Mulligan and Thornton, after accidentally shooting a woman, stuffed her body down the well, allowing the presence to latch onto them. Pretty sure that they were the ones who put Nightingale's heart in the Caldron Lake General Store (you were wondering about that, earlier).

I’m here to debunk your hypothesis with my own hypothesis. Children of the Elder gods wasn’t about the passing of the torch in the sense you’re thinking. The elder gods in question are Remedy Entertainment themselves even if Tor and Odin don’t know it, they just know they’re in a story that’s been predestined. So they’re rebels instead, children of the elder gods who will rebel against their father Sam Lake and refuse to be victims in this horror story. Something to that degree. I can’t wait to make my own videos on this stuff but I’m lazy at the moment.

Back with another long comment (lmao oops I write/add to these as I watch so they can get sort of... long in the tooth). I find what we're learning about Saga really fascinating re: which story about Saga is real or not, or is it a combination of both? The idea that Saga really could have lived in Watery feels real and tangible, compared to her life before because we only really get a glimpse of that in the start through the phone calls. We've only seen her daughter in photos and heard her voice. But here we find a room full of things we can actually touch. And then there's her name of course, which ties her to The Old Gods. I wonder if someone is trying to write her back into a narrative she left? In a way that feels real, because the real Saga maybe wouldn't want to return home? It's hard to say. And then if this Saga, the Saga who lost her daughter is the same Saga as our Saga - what does that mean for Saga's Alex Casey? Or maybe both Saga's are now true inside of this one Saga. I also thought what you said about Alan and Baldur to be a really fun fan theory even if it doesn't really have any legs yet. The idea of the old giving way to the new (Saga/Alan) is great. In regards to The Cult of the Tree being a force against the Dark Presence instead of for it - I've had the same thought as you regarding them using the clicker perhaps to purify instead of whatever Saga might believe they are doing. However we've seen documents (maybe just pages written by Alan/Scratch) that seem to surely imply they are bad, and when they are taken their dialogue does also not sound friendly (and there have been implications that a few have been taken). So if The Dark Presence is trying to muddy the waters, it's doing a great job. Your thoughts when you see the flamingo are the same thoughts I've had when I've seen the few yellow rubber ducks they have laying about this game. I'm sure it's nothing, but it does play into the idea of iconography and subconscious Control had going on, so good job devs. Finally whenever I hear "Shitty Pastrami Sandwich" I can't help but laugh. The tone of this game is dark, but it's so funny each time, and I'm glad the devs were able to sprinkle some humor into it. Remedy so is good at that.

Honestly my theory for the alert was that time was already progressing faster in the oldest house now that it was disconnected from reality due to the lockdown. The alarm was coming in at the right time because that’s the moment in the real world it started going off. The rest of the hiss are then dealt with afterwards, and the Oldest House comes out of lockdown only to discover it’s many years later, set at the time Control 2 comes out. Otherwise I wouldn’t expect any of them to be sane after having been locked up in a building with no sunlight for over 5 years.

My line of thought for what’s real and what’s not is to look at the simplest explanation. What’s simpler, everyone in town had their memories changed to believe they have known Saga all this time, or just Saga’s memories have changed? Also, if it is that Saga has lost her memories of living in Watery then her learning the truth and that Logan did drown is a narrative gut punch that would really make the player feel something. Also also, Saga thinks it’s everyone else whose memories have changed, which on stories like this usually means it’s the other way around. But all that said, I don’t want to be right. I don’t want to see Saga go through learning her daughter has been dead and the story made her forget. She’d have lost Logan twice.
@GamingUniversityUoG Жыл бұрын
I'm going to comment on this tonight. After thinning about it I feel that the story is trying to convince Saga of the false reality being real. Even the other people are trying to drag her in. The more the story pushes her into it the more real it becomes

As the games progressed, reality and time broke more and more, until the characters are forced to face the overwhelming truth that they are characters in the screen (the dark place) forced to play out these stories for our (the audience’s) false hope. Mr. Door and Mr. Scratch (the dark presence as Mr. Scratch) want to break out and live in the real world, our world. Meanwhile, Alan Wake is the writer created by the writer in order to break this story and reveal to truth to himself and to all. He created Tom the Poet to bring a start to Remedy’s journey all the way back in Death Rally and has been trying to come to the surface of the dark place ever since. But they’re trapped there in our screen.

Like, yeah, Alan paints them as Villains and says they are trying to give the clicker to Mr Scratch, but... The cult kept killing the Taken that managed to get out from the lake. Did they also murder normal people? Also, M&T were part of the Night Springs initiative. Could it be that Alan might be setting us up for a Twist reveal where they show themselves to be allies? Idk. There is, probably, a mountain of evidence against it, but if Scratch only saw the beginning part of the novel and wrote them to be his allies only to get betrayed... It might be a way to convincingly kill a monster in a horror novel: by showing humans as a worse monster. I am clearly rambling, so let me get back to the video and hear what you were about to say.

I get cause I hear people say it while streaming all the time that it’s difficult to play whole streaming cause you have so much to juggle. However, it’s not that you can’t see what’s going on you saw what was happening you had two targets and weren’t using target prioritization take one down then the other instead of trying to fight both back and forth.

Watching this after playing. In the coffee world commercial " discount will not be given without id" what Id do children under 10 have?
@whendarknessfalls696911 ай бұрын
They can get IDs at any age. You're thinking "drivers licenses" cuz that's what cops ask for mostly. Normally events like this just use school IDs though.
