This gave me the idea of in-universe characters playing table top and having their favored armies, which is absolutely hilarious. Like all the guardsmen having sisters of battle or maybe Big E playing a chaos army.

I've done that before. Playing paintball once, me and a friend were hiding, talk ensued, kinda ignored the fact we were starting to lose, but I was so into my know it all talk ...we got overrun. Friend made me pay for lunch after we got done playing, for my talking shenanigans. Good times. 😊

He talked about them going after the Blood Angels, so I am going to presume he is talking about the 'nid attack on Baal, the Blood Angel's homeworld.

I believe he's referencing the hive fleet that went after the Blood Angels on their home world. It was then engulfed in a warp storm and completely annihilated by a Khorne daemon and his army that had already called dibs.

Less emotionally more strategic the blood Angels were scorch earthing every planet on the trajectory on the hive fleet, and it was starving, it identified the culprit the blood Angels and b lines for their planet since stopping at more purged planets would only cost and waste more biomass, essentially a one last push to regain the lost biomass of travel and during the fighting it takes control of individual nids people take this as potential fear from the hive mind etc but again more likely identifying VIP to get rid of Tl:Dr blood Angels were playing carrot and stick the hive mind said fuck the stick, fuck the carrot I'm coming for you, but was already weakened and necrons give some help on order of the silent king iirc
