Thanks for showing the heavy bolter. Stopped at purple cause it just seemed so bad and wow. That 1 tier up is the biggest power spike ive seen in the weapons yet.

I hate the community around heavy bolter since every new player including myself found it underpowered but all they knew how to say was "learn to use heavy stance or get good" It works fine now but it's still the weakest of the 3 heavies, plus plasma/melta work well from the start

the contested health regain is a bug that they're going to fix, so the Assault gun strike gimmick to overheal isn't going to actually work when the next update drops. So the only thing making Assault an okay class isn't gonna be viable soon..

For beginners i highly recommend melta weapons. They will carry you and your mates hard until you reach the key perks in the skill tree

The Bulwark talent on the 1st column second row (AOE dmg on perfect parry) may have a bug (or maybe intentional) where u lose the option to gun strike after a perfect parry. Instead Id say 1st column row 1 (hp dmg reduction once armor depletes) with gun strike is better in the sense that you take little hp dmg after armor break and get the hp back via gun strike. You do lose some horde clearing tho, however I think opting for the ability to gunstrike allows the bulwark to tank better in a horde while your teammates clear the chaff.

I really hope its a bug and they fix it soon, but honestly losing the gun strikes is worth it. You lose majoris burst damage but the horde clearing is so much better, letting your team clean up the warriors easily.

I completely agree about the Heavy Bolter. It feels like a marshmallow gun UNTIL you get the Relic tier with the weapon perks, at which point it suddenly pops off. It really redeemed the heavy class for me personally as I finished leveling it.

Hey clay, love your vids. Got onto you veteran darktide vids, I’ve maxed everything but vanguard and even though it does change a lot I’ve think my favourite build is my dark angels heavy plasma devastator. Using the heavy plasma incinerator and plasma pistol. The lob of the plasma is for sure inconvenient but I wouldn’t call it clunky, infact getting clutch lobs consecutively feels amazing when you pull it off. It also does ridiculous aoe to minoris, you can facetank ruthless minoris/majoris waves spamming full charge plasma into the horde and leave with 100% hp. Nearly always highest ranged dmg on the board too :) clutch>clunk

For Vanguard, look into the perk that restores 1% health when executing majoris of higher. It sounds like shit on paper but it's actually really good. Maybe it's bugged or they miss typed it but it's more like a 10% heal. I've recovered from mortal wounds without stims thanks to this perk.

Check out the UPGRADED version of grande launcher bolt rifle. Apparently it is very good but missed by many because of it's common variant stats

Are we sure Death Strike on pistol affects all damage after a melee kill? Because I've been reading that as "after a melee kill the damage of THIS WEAPON THE PERK IS ON (i.e. the pistol) is increased by 25% for 5 sec" Same for Close Combat perk.

@@EvgGaar Wording in this game is weird I've been data mining alot of it and will have the perfect answer for everything eventually. The problem is a lot of things don't hit breakpoints anyways so it's hard to notice. Either way I wouldn't be changing the way I have my pistols setup.

power fist bulwark is my favorite pve setup. no idea if it's meta, cause i only play trivial when i play with randos, but it's so much fun running around with a fist the size of an ork punching the shit out of anything that moves

I personally don't agree with your boltgun tactical setup as i find having the perfect parry auxspecs scan works out way better and more consistent, yes you dont have 175% damage boost but you do get 100% with effectively 100% uptime against anything you can parry

Yeah, the boltsniper feels bad but I found that it has infinite ammo. All you have to do is swap weapons, swap back and all your reserves come back.

Agree with how you talk about the Melta. It’s a free carry weapon which I’m fine with. Hoping they don’t nerf it. It’s a PvE focused game and some people need help being able to survive. To me it got boring pretty fast. Like playing the game with training wheels.

If you use the hammer for assault and get the 50% aoe weapon perk, then taking the 100% more damage class perk for ground pound is kinda free since you cancel out the aoe loss

The groundslam and groundpound are different moves - the weapon perk only affects the in combo hold move of the hammer - the weapon does not affect the class perk

The hammer affects the Ground Slam, which is a hammer melee move, not the Ground Pound, which is the assault jump-slam ability.

Maybe it was a bit fast but I only use fencing weapons I go over why in my tips and tricks video and probably should have expanded a bit, basically it's the only useable option for most melee weapons on most classes. If you look in the text build guides it also shows which type of weapon that I recommend for every class.

I went around level 16-18 i believe. I really reccomend you find someone that can take you through a couple and then youll be set after that. I avoided it for so long but its actually not that bad. Purple missions always seemed like rush through missions, but gold missions are more of taking it slowly and killing everything unless your absolutely forced to run. As long as your good at getting gun strikes and parries, or however you keep your armor upnyoull be fine
