This is so impressive! I'm kinda surprised by how you didn't really use that season 7 stuff (even though you already told me lol) but it makes sense with the Sherry clips. So that is very surprising you could do it with just the early seasons. So many creative lyric matches like "crestfallen on the landing", all those scenes of Rory looking at pictures (I have no memory of some of them), chevy door, flannel cure, "I made a joke", "halls we once walked through" (considering that was the whole point of the episode actually!), "you won't remember all my champagne problems" and that early season 3 scene. It's a lot of really great stuff and I feel like rewatching:D

I used 1 clip from season 5 (and the Liz/Lorelai moment in season 4) and i did use the one scene from The Revival but absolutely nothing from season 6 or season 7. I had forgotten but they have so much to work with really, especially if you include scenes talking about them. ;) I was super focused on seasons 1-3 in particular. Rory looks at the photo strip of her parents in 1x08 "Love and War and Snow", she looks at it up in her mom's old bedroom and later at the end of the same episode... the same episode as the photo album with Lauren Graham dressed in a debutante gown and Emily & Richard getting all uncomfortable and quiet. And later it's 2x10 "The Bracebridge Dinner" when Rory picks up the Christmas card with a photo of her dad and Sherry on it. Just for the record, in case you were curious. ;) I had forgotten about Sherry being on a Christmas card kinda but was glad to find it. Oh i forgot that "that was the whole point" of episode 3x13 "Dear Emily and Richard", the sitting in the chair with decorated for Christmas halls was 1x10 "Forgiveness and Stuff" but yeah i figured it was more likely in 1x10 to literally be the same hospital as where she gave birth because both events - Richard's cardiac event and Lorelai going into labor - happened in that Hartford house. Sherry actually had her baby in Boston lol but now that you mention it that episode being about remembering when she had her baby and how much the episode was about comparing it to a present moment in a hospital might've inspired my choice lol...

I've been planning to vid Right Where You Left Me for Lorelai/Christopher ever since I first heard the song!! (Which was IMMEDIATELY when Taylor Swift released it lol.) Don't know if I will but I do really want to. The end of 2x14 "It Should've Been Lorelai" and their scene in Luke's diner really makes me think of the song a lot too

I used to hate Christopher, but now I realise Lorelai was the problem. She told Luke to not worry about Chris, and told Chris to not worry about Luke. She kept playing with both of their feelings. Lorelai was the problem.

I think she had an avoidant attachment style and struggled with commitment and with a lot of mixed feelings. Christopher is written in quite the complex way where he has a lot of positives and devotion emotionally to Lorelai and Rory and it is implied that Lorelai pushed him away when they were young and the reason he wasn't in Rory's childhood more was mainly Lorelai's choice even though she kinda... resented him for not being there or something? Idk you can interpret a lot of it different ways but that's how I see it. And Luke had plenty of his own issues and avoidance tendencies too. In season 5 drunk Christopher was portrayed very negatively and caused Luke some hurt but a lot of the hurt was actually caused by a mix of Luke's own insecurities and Lorelai having lied to him. Even when Lorelai slept with Chris in the season 6 finale, Lorelai basically treated it like she'd broken up with Luke and ran right into her ex's bed, not really that she cheated on Luke. So to blame Chris for Lorelai's choice feels unfair to me. But yeah that's my perspective on a lot of it. She didn't necessarily mean to be toying with their feelings but she certainly led to some of the heartbreak for both men with her own choices. Especially marrying Chris when she was still in love with Luke. That was really bad.

Her sleeping with Chris was just something she did to cement that her and Luke were really over and not a break. Like she said, she didn't want to wait or go backwards.

I will always love Christopher. He wasn't the one for Lorelai but he was definitely a good man. A little lost in the beggining but he tried his best, and when it comes to a woman like Lolerai, who was not easy, he was pretty persistent and loyal. I just wish he had found happiness with someone else,altought i know he never did...

I'm tired of pretend Lorelei and Chris weren't good together in the story, the writers damage all the good stuff between them,to push the Luke's agenda,I remember rotting for them so bad to be together like a couple,and then they damage even the good everlasting friendship for good ,they were similar in character and have a crazy chemistry

Yes! Honestly I felt like at the end their marriage could have worked but Lorelai was being weird and didn't wanna move a town over... 😐. Like it wasn't even far from her job or other stuff she just wouldn't budge on it.

They had so much potential and i will always ship them for what they could have been. But i can't deny that Luke and Lorelai work. Personally j will never ship them like i ship her and Chris but i understand why Luke was the one for her from the beggining. Lorelai was a mess, like, in every sense. She needed a man like Luke, all put together, mature, responsible...a grown man really, cause Lorelai most of the times acted like a kid, in fact, she never really grew up and was a cry for help when it came to stability, take things seriously and all of that. And Chris was pretty much like that, like you said, they were similar in personalities yeah...but that's not what you need in life,someone who matches your personality, you need someone who can offer you something you lack and to whom you can offer something they lack, most of all you need responsibility, maturity and someone with whom you can live the struggles of the day to day life without wanting to jump of off the relationship over any crisis. Chris and Lorelai were similar, yeah, but in the good and bad. Chris had grown up by the end of show, he was a total different man, responsible and was pretty much everything Lorelai needed...but she had changed throughout the corse of their relationship, she wasn't the same from when they were teens or even when they tried to stay together in second season, because of Luke...she had changed and Chris had too but in the end they didn't fit together anymore, it was not the same between them. I agree that the writers kept ruining them but that's because they were ruined from the beggining. They were never gonna work and the way they were written from the start showed that. I'll always ship them because of the actors chemistry and as i said cause of the potencial of their story but i'm glad she ended up with Luke because it's good-writing and when it comes to writing, something this show lack a lot we have to appreciate the things they did right and this it's one of the few things they did right.

This was so, SO beautiful! I wish you included more of S7 scenes too! Imo, they were perfect for each other. Ik the timing never seemed to work out but I always, always rooted for them. They had chemistry, history, truly understood each other, made each other laugh, had a daughter together, they just made sense. Luke and Lorelai on the other hand, hardly had any chemistry, not only in comparison to Christopher but also in comparison to any of Lorelai's other romantic interests! And Christopher grew SO much. Lorelai was it for him. I wish they got their happy ending!

Thank you so much! Yeah I skipped using season 7 in this vid. I didn't like the writing and Lorelai characterization in season 7 i guess? Even the Christopher characterization? It didn't feel quite right but. I've vidded it before. I'll probably vid it again. But it's not my favorite. Also if I'd vidded season 7, what would you have suggested I remove from the video to make room for it. What do you wish I hadn't vidded that is indeed in here? I think these current scenes I did choose were all more powerful and better to include. Just. Every decision to include something is a decision to not include something else, is all.

@@fariatasnim2706 Well Deck The Halls is a line from a very popular Christmas carol in English. And there was Christmas decorations on the walls when Lorelai was in the hospital with her dad. And then she compared that to Lorelai being in the hospital as she was about to have Rory. Does that make sense?

Okay and I've watched it now and it did not disappoint! I loved all the parallels from the flashback episode to "current" Christopher and Lorelai, especially the one at the end and "they deck the halls that we once walked through". The voiceovers too were just so powerful. You've once again knocked it completely out of the park and made such a wonderful Chris and Lorelai video. I stumbled on this by chance because I just put a video up and search Champagne Problems to credit all the other videos I’d seen. And my goodness, am I glad I did. This is an amazing edit and a concept I never would have considered. These two are such a tragic story, they always danced around each-other, never quite moving on but never fitting together in all the right ways either. They could never get on from one another but when they finally made moves toward a relationship, something was always wrong. I’d argue they are the most complicated dynamic outside of the Gilmore family in the whole show. And that’s saying something. This is a unique video and I applaud you for it.

The thing I loved so much about vidding Lorelai/Christopher instead for it is that pretty much 100% of the scenes for these two do come AFTER the rejected proposal, if you will... ;) I've vidded Christopher enough times in the past to have a whole playlist of those videos on my channel, but most are from so long ago. It's a Deleted Scene from the Season 3 DVD set. It's been uploaded to KZbin. It's in the season 3 finale, the final time in the Independence Inn set they brought back the actress who played Young Lorelai earlier in season 3 for a flashback scene. Also thank you SO much!!
