My first wish I granted this year. mexican3girl ships Luke/Lorelai, but always liked Lorelai/Chris too and as one of her wishes she wrote she'd like a non-endgame ship vidded. We discussed it and she said she'd appreciate this kind of vid.
With news of the Netflix 4 mini-movie revival of the show, I found myself not only hoping Luke/Lorelai and Rory/Jess are endgame, but also hoping we'll see Christopher again. I just... I love when I see David Sutcliffe in any other TV show. Christopher has such a special place in my heart. I think I always related to Rory and maybe he reminds me a little too much of my dad or something. But idk, maybe it's something else too. He was so hated by certain sects of the fandom, I latched onto him more and just... LOVED him? :P
In fact, I think I've always been more passionate about Lorelai/Christopher and more in love with their story and scenes for what it was than I ever was with Luke/Lorelai. I ship Luke/Lorelai as endgame but something about Christopher, and Lorelai and Christopher have such a history and chemistry and banter... I don't know. I didn't like some (maybe most) of what they did with them in season 7, or what they did in "Wedding Bell Blues" with Chris, but especially in seasons 1-3 there was something so amazingly nuanced about how they were written, and acted, and all of it. But I definitely love Luke/Lorelai, don't get me wrong... I'm just often a multi-shipper and for me it's complicated. For me, shipping Chris/Lorelai didn't necessarily mean I wanted them to end up together, and after season 7, really after Luke/Lorelai got together happily at the end of season 4, it definitely didn't mean that. :P I root for Luke/Lorelai. But I'm thrilled to see scenes for Chris/Lorelai.
I can't believe how few of their scenes I managed to get into this vid despite vidding the entire length of the song. I love so many more of their moments. Supsi85 & I got a lot more into our "Tattoo" Lorelai/Chris collab. :P
