I'm not a big deathcore fan (more into oldschool death metal, melodeath etc etc), but a few of the more recent Lorna Shore tracks are awesome to me. To The Hellfire being the number one due to the sheer dark tone of it (almost gave me some atmospheric black metal vibes, really cool imho) and Sun/Eater being a close second. Oh and being an amateur vocalist myself - Will Ramos is a freak of nature in the best way possible.

The blackened style of Deathcore has little “core” left in it at all.

No one ever said an evolution had to be an inherently good or beneficial change. Deathcore came from death metal and metalcore, and therefore partially evolved from death metal. I think a big reason Lorna Shore has managed to break into mainstream and have people who aren't fans of metal listening to their songs is because they almost tip toe on the line of their songs sounding like anthems while being brutal at the same time. I love seeing how many people are getting introduced to deathcore/ blackened deathcore and that they're pushing the genre into a more heavy and technical place.
