I don't think it's possible to write a better metal song. It literally has everything. Atmosphere, technical riffs, sweeps, punishing breakdowns, ATMOSPHERE. There is nothing I would change about this song. NOTHING. THE GOLD STANDARD.

There should be a high framerate video made to look at how he downpicks. It's like the second downpick has a smaller motion than the first one in the riff at 2:42. And its so fast that using .25/.5 speed doesn't help a lot.

Marksman 5147 It definitely has a heavier tonality, while a 7 would give a higher range. I personally prefer getting some thick strings and down tuning a 6. Bunch of bands do it.
