Doesn’t matter that her brother is famous at all, this woman is doing something few people do, putting herself out there to educate and help other people not be so afraid to help themselves. We desperately need more brave women like this, so proud of her!
@judithvoordendag66663 ай бұрын
Agreed. Putting yourself out there by opening up about your mental health is on many layers a lot more private. She has a big heart for recognising the need for light on this topic weighs more than the comfort of not showing this part of her to the world. Heartwarming that more and more people do so in their own environments and communities and that the ones with a large follower base like Gemma step up too. Respect and ❤

Lorraine has been nurturing the 1D boys and their extended family since the very start. It’s quire sweet to see. She’s always so encouraging to all of them. And, yes, not enough federal focus on making sure that people have actual access to mental health professionals beyond a quick antidepressant medication script.

Why do they have to use pictures of just her and Harry? She’s her own person, not just Harry’s sister
@camilaalves97054 ай бұрын
I think it’s because she wouldn’t be there if HE wasn’t famous. So they do need to relate her to someone (him) to try and explain why she’s being interviewed and also to pass credibility, since she isn’t famous herself nor a professional in any of the fields she wrote the book on. She’s great and using her visibility to talk about all these important things is what makes her such a beautiful person, but we do have to realize that she’s only able to do that, and have this visibility, because of him. So she is coming from a position of privilege. What makes it wonderful is that she could be doing anything else, but she chose this.
@missescaptist3 ай бұрын
I agree but I think she has mentioned before that she doesn’t mind people talking about him I’m sure she’s used to it by now and knows that he will be brought up.

I wonder how it helps to see people "like them" hurt? Sure they hurt, they are humans, actually all living creatures hurt in many ways. The only way it might help if you find some joy in others suffering like you do...
@misajern593716 күн бұрын
It can help someone feel less alone in their own journey and struggles if they know that others understand and feel the same way. It’s very hopeful and helpful to see people who are in a better place even though they have possibly dealt with the same feelings and things.

With all due respect why is she qualified to be speaking about mental health? Is she a trained psychologist neuroscientist etc

She’s not speaking as an expert, more like sharing her personal experience. Hence the title “My Mental Health Journey.”

It's a fantastic book.📕... Mental Health Matters.🫶 Totally relateable storylines written of personal perspectives & journey. Thank you, Gemma. I jumped in feet first & submerged myself in the pages . BRILLIANT . The most comfortable book on the topic I have ever read... Of course I have highlighted & added pen written notes all over as quick references, I am NOT alone.. 🫶
