Lyrics:
The more I needed, the less you gave
I guess you thought that it worked that way
And now that I'm leaving
You're not believing
A word I say
If you think I won't go
Watch me
Oh, just watch me prove you wrong today
You don't even know you've lost me
You think I'll always stay
Oh, just watch me walk away
You keep telling me that it can't be done
That the world is colder without someone
Yeah, it might get lonely
It might get crazy
But this time baby, I'm as good as gone
You don't even know you've lost me
You think I'll always stay
Oh, just watch me walk away
If you think I won't go
Watch me
Oh, just watch me prove you wrong today
You don't even know you've lost me
You think I'll always stay
Oh, just watch me walk away
Oh, just watch me walk away
Oh, just watch me walk away

Heard this song for the first time in over 20 years while shopping and it spoke to me. Found out earlier in the day that I had been cheated on so I knew this was a sign that it was time to end things with her. Remember everyone, it's okay to let go of a toxic person, no matter how much you love them, as it's necessary to make room for the right person to come into your life.

This must have come out in about 1992. My husband and I were married about a year and had a big argument. I remember cranking this up on my cassette player in my little white Chevette and singing as loud as I could all the way to my moms. In March we will celebrate our 31st anniversary.😂😂😂

Congratulations on 31 years! I got into a big argument with my husband when I had been married to him for one month and he decided to sleep on the couch. I went into our bedroom and packed my suitcase and drove off. He thought I was going outside for a walk to calm down... We've been married for 10 years now. I love Lorrie Morgan's songs!

Oh my God I can't believe you said this. I just played this after many years. In 1997, I left my husband, and traveled cross country. I had decided that I was through and I got myself a job in the Rockies in colorado. At one point somehow I was going through Montana. I stopped at a little shop to get some coffee. There was a guy there with cowboy boots up on the counter and he was slouched back in his chair with his Cowboy hat over his eyes. I bought two cassette tapes, one was awesome hits, the other one was Lori morgan. As I was checking out I asked him, what's the speed limit here? I didn't see any signs. He responded and said "no speed limit." I said you're kidding me. I can pull out of here and drive a hundred miles an hour if I want to? He said "yep." I did. I put in the Lorrie Morgan tape, and when it hit the song, watch me, I just couldn't believe it. It was my anthem song. I wailed it and kept playing it over and over after that. Also, the song Life is a highway was another perfect one for my trip. My story didn't end up as nice as yours did. We split up 6 months later, I had been married for 25 years. That was 1998. A couple of years after I returned my sister and I went to karaoke. This had become one of my favorite songs to sing. Before I went up I told her that this was my anthem song. When I came back down, she was crying. She said I understand now. I'm glad yours turned out well, mine didn't. I kept meeting player after player after rotten guy. I'm divorced now over 20 years, and still have not found the right man. But hey, I got my freedom.

@@marcialussier2467 you wrote your story so well it was like I could envision it in my mind. I'm so sorry you haven't found a decent man. You know, my dad walked out on our family in 1966. I was three years old. I don't remember him and never had a relationship with him, but he taught me a very valuable lesson in life! I knew I DIDN'T want a man like him. I know my husband is the last man that I will share my life with. I wish you happiness whether you find a special guy or stay alone. Thank you for the beautiful comment.

I am so patient, loving, trusting, kind, empathetic, understanding, non judgemental, that he never loved me the whole 16 years. So patient with him that he cheated alot. Never ever told me he wasn't happy. He only ever told me he loved me, controlled me, financially abusive, emotionally abusive, mentally abusive, i was forbidden to ever have a job, finish college, have my own bank account, have friends that he actually liked- when in reality I am nowhere near dumb he just knew certain friends i had would give him a hard time when he was supposed to be good and keep his dick to himself in his own damn pants, accused me of with holding sex, never giving him anything sexual, when in reality i am so wild and freaky sexually that if the man is even on top, he can't hang on very well if he's got no strength or balance, i have to have sex at least once a day, still to this very day. he always told me as he was breathless red and sweating that i was the best he'd ever had let alone seen. And yet, even though i gave him sex that almost immediately afterwards he fell asleep every single time even in the mornings. But you know, silly me! I am so terrible that i never paid any attention to him, as a girl he was "best friends with all through school growing up" - the honest truth in the real world: he remembered she was a cheerleader in highschool, and he claims that'shis type but she didnt give him the time of day back then. 🙄 and that one was after we was married 14 years with a teenaged son. He chose the month before our 14th anniversary she would be his side chick, and it was such a huge secret!!! Anniversary gift was letting himself get caught. 🤦‍♀️🙄🤬 I was also up his ass 24 7 because after we got married, i couldn't ever be very far away from him or we'd fight for weeks. He REALLY didn't like any other man even acknowledging me, especially speaking to me, even just to get acquainted at a cookout or something. But he could flirt and grab ass right in my face and dare me to complain about it. Then he tried making me be friends with his secrets. Then he tried making me be their friend BEFORE he would even attempt to make them secrets too. I ain't gonna sit here for 12 days And nights just to write you a book. But I will say that you're so wrong. Stay very far away from married men. They are liars, cheaters, theives of innocence and true pure hearts. All side chicks heed my warning as well. LISTEN UP HOES. HE. WILL. NEVER. EVER. EVER. EVER. EVER. LEAVE. HIS. WIFE. HE'S had her believing and trusting and being God's gift to him so flawlessly, that she actually trusts him and with her whole being and existence thinks he would never ever cheat. Lie to her, and most of all, sadly, she honestly believes that he would openly straight forward, honestly, without hesitation-- never keep secrets from her and own up to his own mistakes take responsibility for them, and like A REAL TRUE GROWN ASS MAN he is trusted to also deal with, handle, and accept any and all consequences. But be doesnt. To her, he is nothing but happy happy happy He honestly thinks that when he messes up, she will always be there and never leave. She will always forgive him. Always and forever, never ever leave and never ever for one second believe anyone else over him, she wouldn't love him if she did. What kind of wife does that? Been there. Done that. Didnt learn my lesson, allowed it to happen again. Only ever been in 2 serious relationships in my life. First one basically groomed me to be in a 16 year marriage with Satan himself.

@Lorrie Morgan Hi, girlfriend! You didn't know when you recorded this song, did the video (fingers crossed), that not ONLY would it be a hit but would 'cross-over' into the next CENTURY did you? (lol) Yup, me, up here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, meeting young girls involved with the next generation of abusive boyfriends...crying on my (59 year old) shoulder for help. I sit with them and show them this song + Helen Reddy's "I Am Woman", plus all the younger female lyrics.... ("I wanna see you be brave!" + "Standing before the blank page before you...the rest is still unwritten..") By the time I'm done with these young ladies...they are practically back on their feet... STARING off into space and into their NEW found future.... You, and your band wrote one of the most INSPIRATIONAL songs EVER saving girls in the year 2020...the year of HINDSIGHT!!! 👏👏👏 (Hope you are enjoying YOUR hindsight!!! There is a VERY SPECIAL PLACE RESERVED FOR ALL OF YOU in Heaven!!!) God bless...the beasts and the children...
