The bridge at my place we get two skip lorries a time on it before tip, and the outside tippers who come in think they’re clever shooting forward and back on it to bounce there mates around on it like a fucking castle don’t realise how much damage and money it costs when you need a recalibrating certificate costs.

We have had a similar weighbridge problem in my old workplace, we have 6/10 containers to load most days and 6/10 artics and our own 2 wagon and drags and 4 rigids weighing in and out 5 days p/week and half a dozen weekend weighs to,but our bridge is sunk in at ground level, so it’s limited how far it can move front to back, it still moves when vehicles brake and stop on bridge maybe 2/3 inches and even this eventually causes damage on the weigh pads, ours aren’t on ball like yours, they have put speed bumps either end of bridge now so we will see how that goes,.why didn’t you claim off the haulage companies insurance ?, he was way to quick on bridge and slamming on like he did, we have a bloke from the midlands do all our weighbridge repairs, we have had a few breakages over the years and a couple of new bridges installed, plates and beams cracking, water ingress as its a sunken bridge if the drains block it will fill with water, they were talking about having a raised bridge like yours but it wouldn’t work well in our yard,. Get some signs up warning drivers to go slow and don’t stop quickly, plus a speed bump either end,.

I can see why weighbridges set in the ground are more robust.
