Definitely, there was this one scene in the 2000s movie 'mean girls' where Regina bumped into some girl in the cafeteria and she yelled at Regina saying "watch where you're going, fat-ass!" It wasn't meant to call her general body fat, as it made her cover up her behind in embarrassment (if I can remember it correctly)

I’ve been thinking about this for a bit now, that BBL popularity is over… but I would be careful giving credit to the Kardashians for it. Rather, I think they’re following the natural order of things that a lot of us have already noticed (hence the increased number of BBL video analyses on YT). I think it’s that the aesthetic has just been over done. Now that it seems like EVERYONE has one, it’s no longer “special” and I think now - just like in makeup and skincare - we’re seeing an increased interest in toning it down and being more natural, having a more clean, natural aesthetic… and i think it’s just now being carried into body types! I don’t think the Kardashians are “influencing” this, rather that they’re BEING influenced with the times.

I have to disagree about Tammy Hembrow's body. She does work out, but I 100% believe she has had a bbl. She has a couple of Instagram photos where she is squatting in bikinis and you can see the fat sitting funny in her butt. Even if she has built muscle, it's definitely not natural.
@SanelaEstrella Жыл бұрын
@@taradavey I've been following her for like 10 years, I promise you she hasn't. It's gotten bigger and bigger over the years because of hard work. I live in Miami, I see A LOT of bbls everyday and I have never ever seen one that actually mimics what you can build in the gym. It never looks real.
@taradavey Жыл бұрын
@@SanelaEstrella I still disagree. If you look at her before-training photos, and look at her now, there is no way you can build that much of a booty without building sizable hamstrings as well, and she hasn't. She may have had less fat transfer than what you see in Miami, or maybe she had filler or other augmentation, but you can't build that much muscle (in that shape and fullness) without heavy weighted compound movements being involved, and those movements also target the hamstrings. She's lost weight now and her butt is much smaller as well, which shows loss of upper FAT not muscle - including fat that was transplanted. She didn't have fat in her glute area in her before photos. Each to their own opinion but I don't believe she's natural.

My best friend is half-Jamaican, and is one of those women blessed with that slim-thick body type naturally - she has six-pack abs AND a perfectly round, full bum with an hourglass shape 🥰 that said, her arms and thighs are fairly thick and she definitely doesn’t have a thigh gap. Regardless, she can *stop* traffic in a dress. I just console myself with the fact that since I’m 6 feet tall and broomstick-built, I might not impress in a dress like her but I can play to my strengths in pantsuits etc. Different body types are beautiful in different ways, and I think simply chasing trends without careful self-examination for your personal reasons can be a slippery slope, not just for your self-esteem but for your health too

I also have a slim thick look naturally but with skinny thighs with thigh gap, wide hips and big butt. My waist though is slim but I do have belly fat. So I think different variations of this look are possible, naturally. But not in this very extreme way like the kardashians promote it. I personally really love more sleek looking Scandinavian fashion but I’m petite and have those wide hips so it just looks completely off on me! But it would probably look amazing on you! I think we all look stunning naturally, just sometimes it’s not working with the style we currently love the most!

As someone who has naturally large wide hips and small waist, it was weird seeing how it went from being unattractive to when I was younger to the point I got bullied for my large hips. Then it became the thing everyone wants and now I feel people it's going back to the thin body types. To be honest at first it was nice to get validation from people liking it, but when I really started to think about it, it's so messed up for body types to even be a trend. People think they can treat their body like fast fashion. Even if you think about the natural tweaking that you mentioned with Kendal. Its still kind of sad that you have to tweak this amazing natural body that can do everything to fit this idealised body type. The way you are proportioned is for a reason, it's your body. I have had to remove myself from peoples opinions on my body type, even positive and negative. At the end of the day they are just opinions. I love that there is also a trend now to just be accepting of your body, and maintain being fit and healthy mind and body. Hopefully this trend catches on, and that fashion recognises and starts addressing how to dress specific body types and design clothes for them.

If it can help you, just imagine yourself alone in this world, you would barely even put on some clothes, right? You wouldn't care how you looked, so go from there, it's your life, you shouldn't be living it for others. Think like you are the only one who lives on this earth, and you will free yourself from a lot of things, it works cuz i really did free my self. Now I only keep fit, hygienic and neat appearance, that's all. What you need in this world is to be mentally and physically strong thats why I'm planning to lift weight and take martial arts training, I want to be a strong woman who isn't afraid to walk at night by herself. I think regardless if it was announced to be surgery or not, If it’s the hottest thing on the block and we keep talking about it, and hyping it up, The younger generation and the generation behind that is going to continue to see how it look and if it looks good to them they are still gonna want The procedure done. It’s all about what we keep making popular and what we keep talking about. It’s so many people that saying that’s fake that’s fake that’s fake. It’s still a lot of young ladies know what it is and want it. The media probably flipped it on us to get us to talk about it to get us to popularize it. To get everyone to want to get it done. Have anyone ever thought about it like that, that maybe we are the problem.

I totally get what you’re saying, I do. But I wouldn’t say that we have no idea about a procedure entirely. Body trends are always changing as they always have over the centuries which is why everyone should focus on what makes them feel good and try not to idolize a standard. Are there some who naturally have a miniscule waistline with DD above breasts, a gigantic booty and thin everywhere else with sculpted skin... sure.. though I've personally not seen that body type like Kim K as that's not typical IMHO and I'm specifically talking about the Kardashian's and all the plastic surgery they have had to set their specific standard to that, THEY are not natural is what I'm saying. It's become more well known since the infamous somewhat untouched and not fully photoshopped as per usual of them with Khloe in a bathing suit that came out a while back, it's a whole thing. She looked fine but their team tried to scrub it from the internet and so much more with videos because it didn't fit the standard aesthetic for the Kardashian look with not being edited to the max which says a lot being she has had a lot of work done and still can't be comfortable with an untouched photo of herself. This is why I said my comment.

I personally think that the slim-thick epidemic will be around a bit longer especially for those who paid so much money in pursuit of looking like the K-Klan. They finally got "the look" they dreamed of & I'm sure that they will want to enjoy it despite the trend coming to an end. What's sad is that so many "normal" people that are not internet famous or a celeb have been getting BBL's recently because of all the influence of the slim thick body. I feel like they won't body shame, but gen z will start seeing the overly done body as something of the past. With y2k fashion making an appearance again which was mostly about the thin body not so much the clothes, we'll definitely see a decline in the fake body look. Which I'm kinda glad to see! It’s gotta be so exhausting feeling like you literally can’t even leave your own house without first hours of getting glammed up.. but hey- this is also the life they have chosen, and the beauty industry is how they made their millions n billions.. so I can’t feel too bad for them either. As someone from a community where the natural slim thick body is common being African and Arab myself, the slim waist, large hips and big butt was so common and natural for so long before the rise of BBLs. However, I will tell you that the butt comes with some cellulite no matter how many squats you do there will be some of it naturally and if you are just blessed with no cellulite the curves come with no thigh gap or at least thighs that are are in proportion with the butt size not the stick legs and bigger butt that does not balance on the legs or thighs which is just easy to see. Is it possible to have a much rounder and bigger butt naturally with a very slim waist? YES! Sadly it was never praised until the likes of Kim K came with the fake version of it. As a natural slim thick woman myself who loves weight training to stay toned I am glad this trend is dying so that women can just stop trying to all look the same and love the body that they have naturally.

The thing that has always irked my about BBLs is that it seems like the majority of doctors who perform them seem to know very little about anatomy. In most cases (from what I’ve seen) doctors increase the butt size butt neglect the thighs and hips which results in looking like a fat pumpkin with sticks coming straight out instead of the hips/butt blending naturally into the thighs(sorry, I didn’t know how else to describe it lol).
@teadora993 жыл бұрын
I don't necesarily think thats the fault of the doctors though. If someone is coming in for a BBL that is a procedure exclusive to butts and not thighs. If someone wanted to get a more natural looking BBL I'm sure a procedure on the thighs/hips would be recommended as well but that would probably incur a major increase in price which I doubt most of these influencers have. Most women that are going for a BBL are only thinking about their butts and not about how proportionate it might look in the end therefore the prospect of mellowing out a BBL by also altering the thighs and hips just wouldn't cross the minds of them.

I used to get bullied by the women in my family (mother, aunty, grandmother) for having hips. I got told on my 16th birthday "don't eat that cake, it'll go straight to your hips"... Flash forward and I love my hips! I think that they give my body the right amount of shape and it is one thing I actually really like about myself for a change!

I feel like us women can just never get a break. It’s so upsetting. I hope people learn that their natural body is beautiful the way it is :(

I love your disclaimer at the start. I love my big butt, it's nice to know it isn't a trend because it's my body, the same way everyone else's bodies are their own bodies and not just surgery trends ❤

I think natural bodies like Meg Thee Stallion’s are coming back. They just look better, more unique, and so much more healthier.

Lol she's not natural

@@ikramtanyafi4601 There's pictures of her from a few years back where she's quite slim naturally and then all of a sudden she's got massive boobs, butt and thighs. So yeah I highly doubt she's natural either. I don't like it when celebs don't admit to stuff then a lot of gullable ones think they're like that naturally 🙄
