Some LA fire fighters predicted this scale of fire and destruction with the right winds years ago, and it’s just been luck it hasn’t happened sooner. Was controlled burns in the LA mountains well in advance of this fire, when there is zero winds not an option to try and prevent this, or reduce the level of destruction?, as they do in Australia. Assuming there is a reason, hoping it’s not cost or the concern for the environment. Such a tragedy.

Remember that schools were closed because of the expected wind event and all water tanks were 100% full. Precautionary actions saved many lives. Kudos to Los Angeles officials!

Imagine electing a grifting incompetent to take over on Jan 20 - one's whose sole comments so far have not been about support for the victims and the fire fighters and reaching out to the current administration so he can take the reins of dealing with this disaster on day one - But instead to act like a 5 year old whining and blaming. I’m no MAGA but he actually did suggest good solutions before. He requested the use of sea water in that area. Our governor said no because he wanted to save smelt fish. Now he is silent over Canadian firefighters’ use of sea water. He was also asked to copy European model for forests. This too was rejected.

It is not possible to put out a fire in a chess tube with water, sand or chemicals, you have to put out the fire with fire. Apart from soil, whatever is subsoil except concrete must be destroyed by fire. If the intensity of the fire increases, the measures should be taken accordingly.

The cars were abandoned by people fleeing and the firefighters pushed them aside in order to pass through, that is why, not that people crashed into each others.

@kobeNinjaYT Not here. Please think. Those cars clearly were not bulldozed. Nowhere near danaged enough. Plus cars that were bulldozed elsewhere were in the main lanes and bulldozed into cars parked at the curb. Again, that’s not what happened where the reporter was. There’s also a car left blocking a full lane, which again would not gave been left there by a bulldozer.

The reporter said that the cars crashed into one another as they tried to leave. Totally false. They abandoned the vehicles but to get the fire engines thru a clogged road bulldozers pushed them to the side of the road
