Appreciate the take but I will say the Chargers' roster wasn't as talented as people love to claim, otherwise they would've produced especially with the defence. The coaching has been awful and most of the times that aforementioned talent has barely been on the field at the same time due to injuries. I would like to see Justin take more chances generally. Also, as a fan, I think 7-8 wins is terrible, possible and an improvement from last season, but still terrible so we'll see.
@putmeincoachpod20243 ай бұрын
It is, but I think you're in a spot now where the most important positions are in place. HC, QB, LT, Edge. You have a ton of cap space next year and *possibly* a high draft pick. If you can just bare with this lacking roster, there will most likely be success on the other side. That being said, its Harbaugh. Dude just wins. Would I be incredibly shocked if you win 10 games and sneak into a WC spot? Not at all.

Chargers will be fine Staley held them back, Herbert will be good, his weapons aren’t bad he had 4000 yards multiple years with KA and Mike dub having injuries, they have been bottom 3 defense (Staley calling plays) and a bottom 3 run game which Jim and Roman can automatically have that at a top 10. They won’t contend this year but can easily get 9-10 wins and have a great future with Herb and Jim

While a Calvin Johnson or Jerry Rice would still give every team a boost, Ladd McConkey is just great, not gonna get that open _or_ make Every Contested Catch. Their receiving room is one of The Worst in the league right now. Then there's the play-calling. They are not gonna win a lot of games this year. & I don't like Herbert's chances of going through games against Wilkins & Crosby unscathed. They might be the AFC's Panthers.
@putmeincoachpod20243 ай бұрын
Yeah, great points. I don’t think they will be worse than last season, but the playoff talk is just premature for me. This roster has a LONG way to go on both sides of the ball. Thanks a ton for the comment. 🙏

Hi Guys, it's the precautious masticator under a different guise here. (All my accts have been periodically suspended & I have 3 floating ones now to try & get around it). Ian is "Not a Greg Roman guy? If you'll permit, I _can link_ videos by Kurt Warner & many, many others to support this stance. The harsh view I often take (that you shouldn't even if you agree with it, you have to appeal to a wide audience here & my takes _RARELY_ appeal) is that Ravens ownership did Not Want & Now Resents having an MVP-calibre QB. & Roman was their ticket to undermining LJ8's chances of netting the Huge Contract. Obviously not an appealing take. But I think most people suspect this. We can all see it in movies when a character is lying to themselves. They over-compensate. The way fans defend Roman's tenure _reeks_ of this. "He was there to help Lamar with certain issues" is the most common refrain. Okay. Which issues? I don't remember any Ravens spokesperson telling Us The Fans & therefore Every Other NFL Team that their QB "had issues." So this _has to be_ a made-up lie. There's *no possibility that* anyone _EVER_ said Lamar has weaknesses in his game. A lot of this parallels what I say about how Poles & Eberflus betrayed Fields. A _LOT_ of the things fans say about make no sense. None at all. It's still possible that Roman is inept, that the plays he called served Bisciotti's purposes _AND_ Roman thought they were good. It's that _Harbaugh stood _*_by_* Roman knowing he stank. _That_ is totally suspicious that an HC watched someone take Lamar down from 36 TDs & 6 INTs to 16 & 13 & said "he's doing a Great Job." Supporting Roman *had to be* a requirement imposed by ownership.
@putmeincoachpod20243 ай бұрын
Haha welcome back! Always appreciate the insight, truly. And yeah I said I’m not a Greg Roman guy largely because of this. Andy and I are very plugged into Jim and John’s career and coaching tree because they grew up in our town and there’s the coaching tree connection with Roman. Roman to me feels like a… lazy hire? The conspiracy about Baltimore and Lamar is interesting, and Lamar absolutely seemed to see the field better magically in one season with Roman gone. Very interesting take man, thanks for popping in.

Well, Claudia, you're leaving out the context. We were referring specifically to the LA Chargers, and go on to say how they should have never been moved out of SD. We also spend the following 40 minutes talking about how fun this team will be in the future, and how you finally got your coach right. Maybe give it another try! The Chargers are a BAD team! Everybody is acting like Harbaugh’s presence alone is all they need. It’s laughable! He’s a very good coach and did great things 10 years ago with the 40whiners. But it’s been a DECADE since he’s coached in the league. That’s not nothing! His scheme didn’t win at the highest level back then when the league was centered around the run. Now it’s completely flipped and he’s trying to play the same way. The Chargers are much closer to a full rebuild than anybody wants to admit. Obviously they’ve got the coach, QB, and if Alt hits the OTs. But there are NO weapons for Herbert to work with and the defense is BAAAAAD!! They’ll be competitive at some point. But they’re 2 years away from being taken seriously unless they make a major move.

@@quintenruckman3505 well which one is it? Are they rebuilding and not good or are they capable of winning 10+ games? Bad teams, regardless of SOS, don’t win double digit games. And if they are a bad team that does win 10 games, the biggest contribution to it happening would be Harbaugh. You can’t have all of these things exist at the same time
