The reality is that you're not going to get fast food anymore. It's not the end of the world. You just don't get fast food. If they can't afford labor then they won't hire it. It's likely that they'll start resorting to robots and an automat style of service. You could hire one person to operate it all and they would never have to deal with customers face to face. Perhaps if we have less of these fast foods and chain stores then we'll have real mom and pop business again like we used to in the old days. Middle class business owners are what built this country, not McDonalds fast food workers. These corporations have destroyed local communities and I root for their downfall.

For California the min. wage increase to $20 per hour benefits the state more than anyone else, let me explain--- as of 1/2024 the California state income tax rate is 14.4%, now add in federal taxes, and SS tax and all the rest of your standard payroll deductions, So with your increased wage comes a higher income bracket and in reality your $20 dollar per hour raise does not go very far, but it helps the state a lot.
