This video begins on the LACMTA's current purple line terminus at the intersection of Wilshire blvd and Western avenue, located in the heart of the Koreatown community. This film shows what the Metro purple line looks like in its current state, before the "D line extension."
In the beginning of the film, the viewer of this video can observe something known as the "purple line extension." This would connect the neighborhoods of: Downtown, Westlake, and Koreatown directly to the Westside right under Wilshire blvd. The new Metro purple line subway stations would serve the communities of : the Fairfax district in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Brentwood, and Westwood.
Where else should LACMTA officials continue to expand the heavy rail (subway) system? Would extensions in NELA, the Valley, Hollywood, or South Central be a good idea? Perhaps connecting Occidental college or the colleges in Pasadena with a heavy rail line?
