As a fifth-generation Northern Californian with pioneer ancestry, my love for this state runs deep. For over 45 years, I've surfed the stunning California coastline, from Santa Cruz to Ocean Beach, gaining an intricate understanding of how the ocean influences our weather.
But that’s not all-I’m also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding. My passion for California's natural beauty and the outdoors enriches my approach to meteorology.

Remembering 2015 when January didn't get a drop in Bay area.

A local Meteorologist told me that Pete Giddings did not want to go past 5days on his forecasts, but the station wanted to do 7 days like others at that time. Can't remember if he threatened to quit over it or gave in. No computer models back then in the 70's? I learned about weather from him and Joel Bartlet.

Yes that is in fact the case. Both Joel and Pete friends over the years. Was sad to loose Joel.

I've given up on on this rainfall season where I live in central California. This season is a lost cause and there's no way we can recover this year. I'm getting ready to start irrgating my yard possibly in February. Mr Bill

@@2Meteorologist Exactly, and if they can get some hydro seed and baffles down before that light rain it would really help towards controlling potential flooding.

I’ve seen a dry winter turn into wet February-late April. Rain just won’t stop. Dry is a Blessing for SoCal, because next will be horrible flooding. This might be a time for these politicians to consider using people on probation, minimum security offenders and the like to implement erosion control measures. They could learn a valuable trade while paying their debt to society. How about it Gavin?
