This is extremely well done. 👍I really appreciated all the pertinent info and markers along the way and found the sidebar views of notable spots to be a valuable and awesome addition. You perfectly showed how this trail has so much more to offer than meets the eye! Thank you for this - you’ve provided a great overall visual experience for us. Terrific job!

Maria Leah Thank you Maria! I really appreciate your feedback and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! This was a fun video for me to record. The LA river trail has so much to offer and is still developing which is the most exciting part!

Thank you so much for posting this. We're new to the area and this was extremely helpful. Mr. Vape could take a lesson or two in common decency and sharing the road, but I digress. Your video has given us confidence in where to go and what to look for, that we'll feel like we've ridden the route hundreds of times. Can't wait to ride it for the first time.

I REALLLLY hope they open it up where you ended. These bilepaths are so short. (That one is decent at almost 7miles) I wish we had more 15 -20 mile paths.

Try the lower half of the Los Angeles River bikeway. It’ll take you from Vernon all the way to Long Beach! Or the San Gabriel, Rio Hondo bike paths
@mrxman581 Жыл бұрын
I've done the San Gabriel River bike path both to the South to Seal Beach and North to the Dam. I've never done the whole length at once. I think it's about 40 miles though it does go on top of the dam and then continues beyond it. The Southern section is particularly picturesque with a lot of parks and the beach. We would normally stop at Seal Beach to grab a quick bite before heading back. The total ride was usually around 30 miles roundtrip. However, this was well before Covid. Very few if any homeless back then. Though I'm not sure how it is now. If you do this ride, be careful crossing PCH. Cars go very fast on that hwy.

Thank you for an absolutely fantastic video, so helpful! Do you have any recommendations for a bike rental service that can work with this route? Something local or a place that can deliver road and electric bikes at the starting point?
@TrailsofCalifornia2 жыл бұрын
Spike bicycle cafe has a great rental cafe! Not sure if they will do deliveries but they are right along the bike path and you can still have a great ride if starting at their cafe. Thanks for watching!

Thanks a lot for doing this! Do you know what was your average speed? I'm probably going to be biking along this path very often and I was wondering how long it would take me. Thanks again!
@TrailsofCalifornia5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment Marie! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. As I record I try to maintain the same riding speed for each video which is around 13mph but it's not perfect. The LART video you watched was shot a little faster at about 16.5 MPH. Thanks to this comment I'm going to include an average speed marker in each video released from here on out. I appreciate the feedback! Safe travels on your rides and subscribe to the channel to see more! :)

@@TrailsofCalifornia I’m impressed! There was a thunderstorm earlier today but the sky was beautiful by the time I went. It’s very relaxing and I think it’s a great place to walk run or bike and at the same time enjoy the scene. It also smells as if I was at the beach. I know this area was rough back in the day but now I see it really was a hidden gem.

Are there any hills/drops? I’m a skater and prefer flat ground
@TrailsofCalifornia2 жыл бұрын
It’s a very level, flat trail. The only “drop” may be when you travel over the Alex Baum bridge

Greetings from Costa Rica! have you ever ride the entire bike path? what is it like riding the 25 miles bike path? is it safe?
@TrailsofCalifornia4 жыл бұрын
Nasional Greetings! Yes! I’ve rode the entire length of the bike path. You can check out the other videos on my channel to find one showing the entire lower half of the Los angles river trail. I’ve never had an issue traveling this Bikeway. All 25 miles. I would give the entire Bikeway a safe rating but always be aware of your surrounding!

how do you connect this to the other bike path that take you to long beach?
@TrailsofCalifornia5 жыл бұрын
Hello Mikeytek! The bad news is that there's no clear way to connect this end to the south end. You have to ride through DTLA on surface streets. for now, I'd recommend making your way to union station then riding south on Alameda street and left on Slauson Avenue for the most direct route to the other half of the LART...Be safe on the roads! However, the good news for you is that the LA Metro has major plans in development to bridge the gap between connections. Creating one seamless path. It may take a few years but this channel will be keeping a close eye on that development so be sure to check back for more info as it comes! What camera did you use and how did you mount it? It’s so smooth and steady.
@TrailsofCalifornia4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! At the time I used a GoPro Hero 5 with the Karma Grip Stabilizer. I mounted the Karma Grip + Camera to the center of my handlebars using the standard Go Pro bike mount. I padded the handlebars down before mounting the camera and tied the grip down on the back end to secure it further. After filming, I believe I used some stabilizer effects within my editing software as well. Hope that helps!
@francoisbenoit67524 жыл бұрын
@@TrailsofCalifornia Nice! How do you maintain the camera on the center? other gimbals have delays when turning because of smooth pan. Is there a setting in Karma that makes this possible?
@MrEndocytosis3 жыл бұрын
Do you have a good route from the beginning of this ride to pasadena/so pas?
@TrailsofCalifornia3 жыл бұрын
Sure! It’s a little tricky from north Pasadena but if you start in south pas travel west on Mission St. towards the Arroyo Seco golf course. Find and head south on Lohman Ln. That street will take you to the north entrance of the Arroyo Seco Bike Path. Travel the full distance south on that path. When you reach the end of the path cross the 110 and merge on to N. Figueroa St. continue south on that street until you link up with the La River bike path! Done! Should take around 35 min to make that connection. Hope that helps!
