You are correct about the hikers. This Trail is so heavily crowded with Poison Oak and hikers. Head to the OC for Pure bike trails. Unfortunately and this was 4 years ago the trail has changed a lot. The roots are all exposed and the hikers are mad at us. And honestly can't blame them. Our tires have been chewing up roots of 150 year old oak trees. Been shredding OC pure mountain bike trails

This used to be an awesome trail but with the recent rainfall the trail has been washed out in several places. I'd say only about 70% is rideable the other 30% you would have to walk it.

Great video, love this trail for all levels of riders. It's encouraged to have a bell on your bike to alert hikers and equestrians of your presence.

That crossing at 6:26 doesn't exist anymore. Now I know why I've been kind of scratching my head at that point past few times. Guess I started going out there around the time you made this. I love riding there, getting cooled off by the crossings and under the shade trees just like I used to like the West Fork before the fire took it. Beautiful places. Thanks for posting!

Looks like more fun when the water flow isn’t as high the time you went and revealed some paths on those crossings I didn’t even know existed! Haha it’s a fun ride and the climb is defiantly rewarding!

I built that Pumptrack, sadly its gone now. Me and my 2 boys ride bmx, but I just got my 1st mtb and I've done this ride twice. Heading to big bear Sunday for 4 days. Here's an idea for a video - Bmx rider hits Snow Summit on a Mtb for the first time.

@@esteluxmtb5425 I did ok. I didn't get to do any of the jumps but it was good on the main trail. I was suprised the bike was fine after the ride because I hit a log with my pedal and I somehow landed on my feet while the bike flew into the bushes.

I can attest to this being a noob trail. I like this trail. So far, i have bombed the hill without running into anyone, but i also have a bell. Do be prepared to get wet.

This is the first trail I learned how to mtb on. And also saw my first bear on the trail here. Love this video. You used to be able to fish for stocked trout at that one picnic/pool area where the fire road breaks off to the left. Are you going to be doing one for El Prieto? Would love to see how that trail has changed. Your videos have been making want to get into mountain biking again

Have you done anything on the upper Santa ana river trail (sart)? That is a ride I would like to try when I get in a little better shape. @@TheOutsiderMTB pretty much all down hill, w/ minimal short climbs. Yes some people like to shuttle it, although not as popular as the Mt. Lowe trail shuttle that drops you off at Sunset trail.

Hey Tony....did you have cell service while using the Trailforks app to navigate? How many miles out back was this trail?Also...you said you parked at the JPL parking Lot. Didnt see "description below" gonna ride this trail next week.

If you start the app in service it usually stays in that mode even if you lose it. This trail is an out and back so not so hard to ride. Yeah park in the commuter lot outside this area.

Certain areas have run off, but they are hard to find in the summer months. We should be hitting our rainy season shortly with cooler temps.

@@TheOutsiderMTB I still have nightmares. This trail is a BLAST though! My friends and I used to do it on Cyclocross bikes. I'm glad you went on a tuesday though, this trail network is absolutely packed with hikers on the weekend, some of them very hostile and rude to mountain bikers.
