Los Lobos | Austin City Limits Hall of Fame 2018

At one of the Los Lobos concerts I attended, they played "Good Lovin". An American classic (for those of us who are old). Los Lobos killed that song. Anyway, a very young cat next to me just couldn't get enough. When I told him it was a Rascals song, he asked who they were. Then he told me that he didn't even know who Los Lobos were until he saw them. Long story short ... he loved the song and the band and I think he was enlightened. In spite of the fact that I had seen the band and knew of the song, I felt just as amazed as he was. Birds of a feather from much different generations. The power of music.

I have two of their big 'rock-n-roll' CDs. Of course they are great. Then I bought their 'La Pistola y El Corazón' album. Wow! I assume this was their roots. And they are top-notch at it. It's great seeing that versatility in a band.

These guys are the best band in the world. They play several different styles of music, flawlessly. If they were white, they'd be bigger than the Beatles. FOR REAL. The numb nuts at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland have their collective heads up their asses.

@@mgifford I read in a guitar magazine years ago that on their then-new album they used 16 different kinds of guitars, only 2 or 3 of which I had ever heard of. They're amazing musicians.

Here I am ... two years later to inform you that Santana came from Tijuana. Goes to show you just how uninformed you are and just how much of a music aficionado you are. By the way ... Santana has played with Los Lobos ... on stage several times. DUH Search: Santana with Los Lobos on KZbin.
