Welcome to another adventure in Puerto Vallarta. We’re visiting the Los Veranos Canopy Tour, which is Mexico's most popular canopy zip line tours. The tour consists of 14 zip lines that total over 2 miles of distance. Speeds can reach up to 30 mph in some areas and run over 500 feet zipping over the Orquideas River (meaning orchids). Here’s their website: losveranoscanopy.com
The full shuttle ride up from the Hotel Zone (and the return), runs on Mexico Highway 200 and will go through Viejo Vallarta (Old Vallarta). The ride runs parallel to the Malecon Boardwalk, so you’ll see tons of street vendors, craftsmen, bars and restaurants.
Further south you’ll see the popular “Los Arcos de Mismaloya” islands, which is a Mexican National Marine Park. The larger island is Roca de los Arcos (Rock of Arches) and the small islet is Roca del Diablo (Devil’s Rock). The other islet hidden in the back is Roca de la Tortuga (Turtle Rock).
First and foremost, the zip line guides are professionals and they provide a hands-on safety session before you start your climb. The guides will also be taking pictures and videos during your tour that you can purchase later. So have fun and enjoy the sights! Your first four zip lines are actually practice runs. They’re short and fairly slow moving, to help you get use to the handlebar trolly, your harness, and putting your safety practice into play.
After the zipline tour, you can relax and have lunch at Pancho's Jungle Restaurant overlooking the Orquideas River. If you have kids, they’ll love the water slides, rope swings, and waterfall. Adults can enjoy sampling a variety of Tequila from the bar or shop at their boutique. The family can visit the animal sanctuary and pet certain tropical animals.
