If you are having trouble getting calories in trail mix helps alot! Also that the content about parenting as a father of a 5 year old its nice to hear different schools of thought in raising healthy happy humans.

Like, and like, but like...geez the likes man lol. You guys are right! I'm 12 weeks post Masters show. I'm phase 4 of my rebound with my Coach. 45yrs old, 5'8" 200lbs lean veins everywhere still. Show day I was 175lbs peeled crispy dry just under 5% body fat. This is a completely different 200lbs than I was 10 months ago. My body is primed to eat and make progress. The results of this rebound is pretty cool so far.

If you actually plan on competing as a bodybuilder, definitely go through these pointless phases, otherwise, if you're just trying to feel good look good and have better health, you need to pay more attention to your hormones, replace that white fat with brown fat, and fix your mental health. Those things are far more important than counting calories

Brown fat only exists in humans as babies. There is no way to make it as an adult.

@@K4R3N Unless you want your girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife to 'see a *little definition it's a total waste of time because nobody else will care. You're not going to earn more money and *if you're single I very much doubt that you will get a new partner because of the *little bit of definition.

@@maximusdecimusmeridious3784 I got these tiny manboobs since I was a kid, but there's muscle under it I'm benching 200 for reps. That's the only part left bothering me. Might just get the surgery and be done with it. Rest of my physique I'm fine with, stomach is flat and waist responds to exercise.

As someone who has the opposite problem, 14 months of cutting, down to 190 lbs from 230lbs.... I've been very hesitant to switch to a bulking phase because my bodyfat isn't where I want it because my abs are not fully visible. It seems like 14 months may be too long to cut regardless, but some people tell me to keep cutting until abs are visible / low BF%... That's my current dilemma.

Im in the same spot basically. Close weight too. What I've done is decided to bulk for 3 weeks and then cut for a week. So a 3 1 cycle.

There's much more to life than worrying about visible abs. Nobody sees your abs ....unless you walk around naked. And even if you did do you think people are going to start throwing money at you or that you'll get a better job or you'll get a better looking partner because you've got visible abs?

I have learned a lot from you guys, but what I have seen of your content, which isn't everything, your information seems to apply to younger people. Do you have any content or programs that apply to older people (50)? I have my cardio and nutrition mostly on point, but I am having a hard time building muscle. I started back in the gym at the beginning of the year, with some strength gains but needing more. Thanks for all that you guys do.

This is the holy grail, hard to do. I can get stronger and fatter, or leaner and weaker. Not stronger AND leaner

People can, it's possible, folks just can't cycle intensity and drive drive drive to a deload. Maintenance of strength plus more foundational work while keeping fueled is possible. I was able to gain back 14lbs in a year, while losing 3 inches around the waist. All of my lifts are still going up.

@@drip369 yeah first time I tried a cut I was still chasing PRs, hurt myself deadlifting. Went back to immediate bulking after the injury lol. Will try again in the spring to get lean for pool season
