solid advice here, mainly the point, 'a bulk without strength gain is fat gain'. Great metric there and easy to track.

I was 142 all my life, from teen to late twenties. Had to eat 3k calories a day to go up to 175, this was very hard for me cause I’m 5.7 small frame. At age 30 I started doing strength only on the big lifts and added farmers walk, suit case deadlifts with the olímpicos bar. After five years I’m sitting around 160lbs and that skinny fat look it’s gone! Eat like a horse, 90 percent home cooked meals. Never count calories, I just listen to my body. The other very important thing is changing the reason why you go to the gym. In my twenties I wanted a six pack, now I just want longevity, be able to move as I get older. Before I hated the gym now I love it. Always looking forward to do the big lifts.

thanks guys - great segment - I think this is where I have been for almost a year - at 6:00 when Adam clarifies - that's a critical piece. ebbs and flows...hungry some days...not so much others...starving others - but feel great lifting 5x5. Thank you MP!

Too complicated, mini cut bulk mini cut all this for what? Just exercise to feel better and get stronger. For me all the stress that comes with all this overthinking is not worth it. But everyone to their own.

The reason why they do the cut/bulk/cut bulk is because they want to look a certain way. Kind of like body builders do in a less intense way. If you don’t care about aesthetics then yes eat healthy workout. They preach a lot of that too!

I feel like this dude in particular needs to spend more time on a bulk rather than a 3 week bulk 1 week mini cut, he looks very skinny for 15 years of lifting, of which I'm willing to bet money isn't true, at least consistently. edit: just got to Adam's part nvm lol

Guy changed from skinny, to skinny fat and back to skinny. He needs to go on TRT if he cant build more muscle than that in 15 years.

Depends tho because he might not have been consistent for all 15. I've been lifting for 5 but not consistent all the way through. You never know

He said he has always been in a cut though so that makes sense, plenty of boxers & MMA guys lift weights for years constantly in a cut and aren't massive so it makes sense, that's why they take PED's to compensate 😆
