Thank you for being a vegan on the internet giving a voice to people who feel this way. I feel like this is the mindset of maybe more introverted less confrontational vegs who are a little scared to say this because if we do it will lead to, well confrontation 😭 it's scary out there

Thank you for this video! Been vegan for 11 years and have settled into these feelings over time - loosening up a bit and finding middle ground is so important for longevity and staying in touch with the greater world around us. So thankful for veganism, but also thankful these days for finding a way to engage with it in a sustainable, less restrictive way.

Interesting points, nice to hear some real talk since I don’t know any vegans irl and most online vegan influencers are probably too scared to say something out of the status quo

As a fellow long-term vegan, I didn't relate to a ton of this, but it was interesting to hear your thoughts.

I love Nishas videos and always thought her points are so insightful and back when she was doing the vegan view too. She’s so down to earth and I love her honesty. Loved this video😂💓

I totally 100% agree with all your points. I am doing it for my health and for the animals. I just eat with my husband sometimes and it’s debilitating because I know the reason I did that is because I didn’t put enough effort into vegan cooking. I have a very hard time finding recipes we would like, and I have a very hard time eating meat too.

Actually the most popular "vegan" channels tend to be lifestyle vegans who never "shame" people by talking about ethics, like PICK UP LIME. By bringing up ethics you risk a lot. Most people dont want to be reminded of the horrors they pay for. Too many vegans imho seek to accommodate these carnists rather than thecother way around.

I am a member of some vegan groups on Facebook and most of the members do the shame thing. I have had to leave these groups. It’s borderline eating disordered and mean. So much shame. I always think, “if I weren’t already vegan I would never be vegan seeing these people and the things the say and how they treat others…”

Thank you for sharing you thoughts, Nisha. I agree with what you talked about here and it was interesting to hear a little about the spiritual aspects that I hadn't learned about before. My husband and I have been vegan for almost 8 yrs. It sucks sometimes being the only vegans in our social circles but I have had little desire to seek out vegan friends because of the antagonistic energy many folks in the community seem to bring to the table. The rampant orthorexia and anti-fat attitudes permeating a lot of the community are also red flags for me. I guess at the end of the day I would rather feel occasionally lonely than have my hard-earned peace disturbed, haha!🤷♀

I have spent $20 on vegan brie more than once and it was worth every penny. A small vegan deli near me in Vermont makes some incredible stuff.

There is zero need for anyone to eat any kind of cheese -- except for taste habit. Taste habit isnt good enough reason for killing babies and torturing moms to death. If vegan cheese isnt all that great, then dont eat any cheese. 😊 there are plenty of amazing foods tou can eat as vegan. There is zero need to insist on eating "cheese"

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on veganism. I've been working on my own definition of veganism and what it means to me. It definitely started off with shaming. It wasn't a sustainable practice or lifestyle until I found my 'why.'' For myself, I care about the ethical treatment of animals, our environment, and those affected by the animal agriculture business from the workers to communities within proximity. I'm also highly motivated by my passion for cooking. The vegan content I consume is recipe developers. They have and continue to inspire me with their creativity. I've also been learning not to be so hard on myself and leaning away from a perfectionist ideology that doesn't account for the fact that we don't live in a vegan world. I respect other people's choices so long as they're equally respectful of mine. Unfortunately, there continues to be a stigma about being vegan that easily becomes a target for people to judge just as harshly as vegans towards nonvegans.

I love you SO SO MUCH! "My shoe that I've had for 10 years!" OH MY GOD. I've had my second hand non-vegan shoes for 10+ years over 50 pairs of target boots. Girl. OG here lol. I am not 100% vegan anymore, but it's still 90% my diet and I f*ckin hate the vegan cheese. And the only reason I'm not "100%" anymore is between me and my doctor and none of anyone's business. Lord save me if I was like "can you please give me the vegan anti-depressant?" LOL. This video is the best vegan video I've ever seen and actually motivates me to make more choices that are vegan-based. I also loved the explanation because people ask me why I don't eat meat and then I try to explain I get panic attacks if I have meat on my plate. Now I'll say "It's just what makes my soul happy."

As a 7? 8? Year vegan, the only reason I can still maintain this lifestyle is by being imperfect. After my third “vegan” (plastic) shoe broke after 3 months I said fuck it leather is the way sorry not sorry. I promise my 1 leather boot pair trumps a “perfect” vegan who makes it 2 years. Ughhh shit pisses me off so much like why do so many of these vegans have the emotional maturity of high schoolers?!

Also, yes, nothing will ever again hit like a real piece of pepperoni pizza. The sooner you embrace it the less money you’ll waste on homogenized fake cheese product. It does suck. It really does
