Only the 1st batch of xlx2's caught fire. They corrected the problem but, I'm on my 3rd xlx2 because the negative wire going into the esc has broke twice. It came loose from the pcb.

Yeah I totally feel like you needed to reverse the motor direction, cause it seemed like you were only running on 50% power with that massive beast. That's usually why it doesnt brake when going to reverse. I hate having to do that test to see if the motor is spinning in the right direction...

I dig the upgrades you run. I put some metal diffs in the front and rear over the winter (same diff as you have in the Center). You like the widened DGI hub extenders?…..it’s a must for this rig…. I don't know if you figured this out yet or not but most likely the reason your brakes are messed up is that you have the motor reversed on the truck and on your transmitter so it thinks that it's going forward when it's going backward. Switch the motor on the ESC and on your transmitter and that will fix it

Or go into the settings for the xlx2 using castle link and make sure the correct setting is checked.

Do you have the Castle Field card? If not, its nice to have. Ohh, and how is your on/off switch mounted? Just wondering because there is a switch mount that mounts under the ESC. I seen your switch but it looks like its double sided taped down.

Yes there was a problem with the 1st batch of xlx2's, but that has been corrected. Stop with the fire talk. I have the xlx2/1100kv in my dbxl-e 2.0 and run the hell out of it, no fucking fires.

Just installed the same combo in my dbxle 2.0. I’m running a 16t pinion and the castle fans. No heat issues for me, but I don’t really beat on it bad. Are you going to run the 5t on 8 or 12s? I’m considering converting mine, but am not sure I want to pony up for a 12s system.

No Colin, this is a castle 1100kv. Same size as the 800kv. Bigger than the stock 780kv

Be careful with that 1100kv you might want to consider going back to 16t I ran an 1100 on my dbxl e 2.0 with an 18t and it was drawing over 500amps

With the xlx2 it's ok to go over 500 amps. I've gone over 500 a few times and no problems. The settings in castle link do need to be set correctly.

@@heavymetalrc7520 never had good luck with castle, and the power from there motors is subpar. Tp power, and leppard have proven to hold up, and make good power
