The cold weather really kills plastic. Last winter I was breaking arms on my team magic all the time, even though I bashed all summer way harder and never broke one

Maybe a different combination of metal parts, connected to plastic parts, and you can "find the right combination" for temperatures under 32F.

Just about any plastic is going to become more brittle in the cold. Stuff warm plastic can easily shrug off will snap cold plastic fairly often. Frp plastics are more durable but will still snap easier in cold weather.

I put steel plates on my axles, but they aren't as wide as those... Not sure if they will help fix this issue. Put them on to protect the axle housing from getting gouged on concrete.

Damn im sure most will not have a problem, losi should have went 1 piece with 3rd member diff, just my thoughts. Great truck i was thinking about a smt but i am looking at this pretty hard looked like damn near no torque twist

Just wondering do you think you could be tightening the screws up too much so it puts stress points on the axle especially when using power tools?

I think overtightening could be an issue, but I don't tighten them with the the power tools. I do the last turns by hand. It would only have been for the last hit that might have been an issue, but I think it is more becuase it was used. I did hit a normal jump on my way out and the lower link on that side pulled out. I had to find another screw to use...So it's possible there was already something going on. It was one of the early test axles..which is why I said I don't base anything on that hit. But I stress all the time not to over tighten with the power tools in all my videos. I get it close and then give it a final twist. But it wouldn't over tighten into plastic...it would strip.

Also the too much rpm on drill not good, id work on everything fast , do same as Tony last couple turns by hand , but you don't want heat the threads with metal screw spinning to fast

You might find when they come out on sale they'll be stronger than the prototype and with the carbon braces spot on , Got to say they've had a beating great videos 👍

If you ordered then, it was to be on the waiting list for the next batch. The first ones had already sold out by then. He had them listed and sold out but people wanted to pre-order, so he opened up the sales again to get an order fir the next batch.

Hey also do you think that they will come out with aluminum full axle housings front and rear that would make this truck unreal rather than just making aluminum knuckles front and rear but to give us the whole option of either gunmetal silver, black all chests a polished aluminum full axles anybody agree? Would like to see that and if you can let us know anything or if you can put in a word hint hint to your Losi Buddies LOL

I doubt it will come from Losi, but I could be wrong. I think someone in the aftermarket world might pick it up and run with it. It's tough to say though. The AR60s were done because they are used in multiple vehicles. Will this have the pull to get the companies making them? I hope so. People made metal casings for the UDR and Baja Rey/Rock Rey.

Dunno if you have traveled to East cost for any events But I know TRIGGER KINGS DOING A EVENT TOUR or something MT's are HUGE OUT HERE it be great for Doug to catch wrd of it and do some with TODD at RC EXCITEMENT . I totally think aftermarket axles will come. They've made them for AR60s, UDR axles, Losi Baja Rey and Rock Rey...etc. May not be name brand, but I think they'll come

Looks good can't wait to see it get bashed! Also those axles look open with a lot of space inside it makes me wonder what if you put a nice coat of goop glue on the inside of the axle housings in the spots they crack? that may help and make them less prone to cracking? another thing I said before heating up some very hot water and letting the plastic axle parts sit in them for like 10 minutes and then let them cool down also supposed to take out the stress points from the molding process and make the plastics more durable. O cool cat!

That's good to know for replacement housings. I'm sure most people won't take the time to do that with an RTR though. I'll give it a go with my replacement axles I purchased. HOpefully they ship around the time the trucks do.

this brace is kinda pointless when the after market can make metal axles for it or a internal metal insert like are made for the Axial AR60 axles

Internal metal inserts would be hard in these and I don't think they'd work. Metal Axles are heavy and racers won't want them. These will be great for people who want a lightweight solution.
