Yes you can use the Tacon motor with the Traxxas VXL esc. Some of the Tacon motors use a 3.5mm bullet connector and some use the 4.0mm bullet connector, so you might need to change the connector if it doesn't plug into the wires on the ESC.

@Shabbernigdo Thanks for the advice and I decided to go with the Losi Ten SCTE roller and it is awesome! It is fairly easy to tune and great if you just want put it on the track and race with box-stock setup I highly recommend to anyone.

hobby wing will be a good choice great quality and ive been kicking as in the expert class and they all the lrp, tekin stuff and i also got the gens ace lipo back which are probably the best lipos ive ever had. when you come to choose a brushless system make sure which class you want to run? I run the stock class 17.5, super fun. and when it comes to servos i would run a savox had mine for ever and have enough torque and super fast speed! hope this helps good luck!

Dude, you should put a pipe screen on the motor vent, their like a dollar. get em' at teh' hemp store. it wouldn't be hard to attach either.

it makes the geometry , it makes it handle way better and more nimble. youll want to change the carriers to 5 degree , the kick angle to 25 degree , the aluminum caster block and 3.5 toeplate as far as the servo youll want a hitec servo or something similar in speed trailing spindle is what makes the car keep all four tires on the ground when your doing a tight turn as for electroinics , run a hobbywing 120 esc , they are perfect , an orion motor or trinity , msg me if you need more help

I like how he says he is running 45 degrees of boost on the unsensored Hobbywing motor. Boost does not work without sensor input.....

How woulf the different degree of carriers,kick angle shim,caster block,toeplates and different t's on the servo horns affect the car. What is trailing spindle and anti squat? Sorry for a loglt of questions im new to rc

i dont think you should get this, there is not very much suspension, that is why it is bouncing around on a track, the tires are in the air way too often not allowing you to get the optimum speed.
