Never owned a full out racer like this..but you did a really nice job on this. The body is looks really cool! I’d run it without the body and keep it on the shelf! 🤣😂🤣

That motor and ESC combo will feel much faster on an actual track. We run the hobbywing 21.5 combo on carpet and it's plenty fast for now. They make a lower front wing mount as well but if just driving in the open you don't need it.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. Also, I never hooked up my sensor cable. Honestly didn’t know what it was for until someone commented. I took it out for a rip today with the cable hooked up and it made a big difference. Much faster now. Fast enough anyway 🤙

Nice first run. A few tips: 1. I think you're running the wrong front wheels. Carpet wheels are narrower than dirt wheels, and I'm pretty sure the carpet wheels from Jconcepts are designed for Team Associated cars. You may have noticed the front wheels stick out more than the rear wheels, which they shouldn't. You will have to buy TLR 2wd front wheels. 2. Tires made for dirt will make a huge improvement, those are specialized for carpet/astroturf. Try Jconcepts Goose Bump rears and Rips for the front. 3. Getting a slipper clutch will help traction a lot. The SR version eliminates the slipper for lighter weight, but you need to run on a high traction surface to use it. 4. Did you calibrate the throttle end points on your ESC? You may not be getting full throttle on your ESC if you didn't do it.

Hey thanks for the great tips. I totally forgot this version doesn’t have a slipper. It’s been awhile since I built it. Yeah, I figured they were the wrong tires for the job. I will check out the Goose Bumps and different front tires/wheels. Yes, I did calibrate the esc, but someone else commented that my sensor wire wasn’t hook up. I never knew that had to be done either lol. Thanks buddy!

@@theRCelement if your motor is cool, you can gear it up a few teeth, try maybe 2-3 teeth on the pinion. I think the sensor wire is optional, but you might as well spend the $5 for it.

@@RazorRC Ok nice buddy. Yeah, it came with the sensor wire. I had no idea what it was for. Thought it was for programming or something lol

17.5 is a spec class motor much faster on carpet where you have a ton of grip. You need some bigger pin tires on the dirt that might help. Lookin good though definitely like the looks of it! A chassis protector will help a lot with the scratches.

Had the same experience with rear motor cars having more grip on loose dirt than a mid motor (old b5m vs bandit, ecx boost). Must be the weight like you said. That paint job looks sweet too👍👍👍

Yeah, I agree! Other people commented and said my tires aren’t made for dirt. Guess that doesn’t help either lol

Those are really cool rc cars. I'm 42 now. When I was around 8 my uncle got me an rc10 gold pan. It's here in the garage somewhere. Trying to find mine still so I can restore it.

Yeah lol. Can’t be good for that chassis. It’s a fun little race buggy. I put some Proline holeshots on it and it perform way better on that loose dirt🤟
