Really appreciate wrenching videos like this. It is such an asset to people in the hobby and may be there first model. I'm sure it can be fiqured out but I always find it speeds up the process and helps out big time! I just felt a little tiny oil under the axle that seeped down so im gonna break it down and assess it. Maybe just need a little gasket sealer. Hate to have to wait on new gaskets as I've been dying to run it! Thanks again

Marine grease inside ur axle housing helps, I use it on my UDR axle
@RoadsideRC5 жыл бұрын
Good point - It was mostly dry in there. A little extra grease would not have hurt. I have a big tub of wheel bearing grease I normally use on ring and pinion gears. Something I have leftover from 1:1 work.

Thanks for the video i wanted to see how to put the ear plugs in.. i am gonna put some in the hammer rey diff 👍 How many did you use?
@RoadsideRC2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't take very many. Just squish them in until it is almost full.

Once again, a very helpful video. What kind of grease can be used on this? Is there like a grease specifically for RC use or any kind of grease will do? I’ve messed with a lot of RC parts in the few months since I got into the hobby and looking at the gears and all the parts involved, really throws me off. Was thinking of replacing the front gear box with an aluminum housing, saw all the tiny parts that are in there and said never mind.
@RoadsideRC5 жыл бұрын
Ha! Yes, the differentials can be daunting at first. In general, there is a specific diff grease you would want to use. A quick search on a hobby website should show a LOT of options. Depending on what you are driving, and where, you can really tune how your vehicle drives with diff fluid changes. What vehicle are you working on?

The spikey things threw me for a loop when I first took mine apart. Took me a while to figure out how to align them so I could get the diff back together.
@RoadsideRC5 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I was worried about getting them to align back up also! I guess I did it right...

Another great video learning allot from your channel man thanks ! I have a question maybe you can help i bought a used SRR it tracks strait when cruising but if i punch it it wants to pull left ? Do you think this could be helped with thicker diff fluid ? steering is all set pretty strait camber toe is pretty good ive never had this with any other rc before but this is my first solid rear truck i appreciate any help thanks
@RoadsideRC4 жыл бұрын
This is due to the solid axle and the power this truck has! Honestly, it has been a head-scratcher for me the whole time I owned it. I remembered when I first bought it...didn't seem to do that so much. BUT - I was also running it on 75% power setting. As soon as you click over to that 100% and nail it - it will do this. When I put a crazy big pinion in the truck, it made it so bad that it was undriveable! My theory: 1 - it is just standard with solid-axle vehicles and loose suspension 2 - it is exaggerated by the power this vehicle has

I have a question roadside rc : now in the back rear housing the pinion in the plastic that goes on the gear .Do you have to get 2 separate parts or can I buy the rear driveshaft an comes with back pinion to put the gear ?
@RoadsideRC4 жыл бұрын
I would have to double-Check the exploded diagram, but I am pretty sure those are two separate parts. Did you strip one?
@vinnie88574 жыл бұрын
Roadside RC : yes I actually did the rear driveshaft trying to get the pin out . I upgraded the part and was trying to put on all medal cover case from GMP coving case sucks lol

I’m new to the hobbie lol do I’m guessing I should but the rear drive shaft in back buck don’t know if it has that pinion in it where the black plastic peace is idk I may have to but actually two peace’s idk 😕
@RoadsideRC4 жыл бұрын
@@vinnie8857 The gear does come off. When you remove the driveshaft, and look down the shaft, you will see the screw that holds it. Take some time and really study the different diagrams in the manual.

Either that or the center diff. Does the rear driveshaft spin? Output from transmission?

I see they put the plastic driveshaftes in with the plastic 1. It weak an will break soon.
