Really good informative video. This and the SBR is a pain to work on. You almost need to get a kid with small hands to help you. LOL Thanks for the links.

I’m waiting to see a video like this where somebody just loses it and takes a hammer to their rig, then makes a follow up video fixing not only the original issue, but the new damage as well.

Ha! If it was going to happen, it would be because of this truck! :)

@@RoadsideRC - Yeah, well it comes with the territory when we mix scale realism and performance at this level. I just switched out the servo in mine and found a bunch more rusted screws after replacing everything I could without tearing it apart. Cleaning this thing would be even more of a bitch if it wasn’t water proof. 8S is fun, but I’m a power freak, so a 400 amp esc that can handle up to 16S is definitely going in. I have found that higher voltage systems are much more efficient run time wise, especially when you run the rig at 50 - 75% for the duration. I’ll experiment with 12S @ 4500-5000 mah depending on how the batteries fit and see what happens.

So I’m currently replacing this and I really struggled getting the Servo and servo saver junk out so I would like to replace it with a very good servo, which one would you recommend plus what servo mount to go with it. Thank you!! I wish finding parts and compatibility for this was as simple and straight forward as it was for my Notorious.
@RoadsideRC5 жыл бұрын
Hello, I would go with the Losi servo mount that I show in this video, then I would NOT suggest using the servo that I show here. In fact, I may be taking it out and replacing it myself. Live and learn. I am currently looking at the Hitec RCD D-845WP. I have seen others use this and be very happy. It is waterproof, and good quality for $100.

How is your servo working as of now ? I looked up the servo as well as the 18t horn and may buy is it worth it ? Is it better then the stock one ? Stronger?
@RoadsideRC4 жыл бұрын
This servo eventually stripped also. I hear people are happy with the Hitec servo...but you could buy 2 of these for the price of that one.

It does fit, and so far does work. It only has 1 set of batteries through it so far.

Dang! I am sorry to hear that! Must have been quite the cartwheel! Aluminum spindles are now available from Losi and Vitavon. That is great. I think Vitavon might have the carriers also. Good luck getting it back together fast!

In my opinion the think that servo horn is way to long and it’s gonna get pretty stressed out and also changing trans/rec you’ll get faster steering response

Thanks. So far, so good. Only real complaint after this long running it is that the steering is just not 100% straight. Otherwise all is working well!

I went with 2 of these: www.banggood.com/CYS-S0650-Large-55KG-HV-High-Torque-Metal-Gear-Digital-Servo-for-RC-Car-Boat-Airplane-p-1338528.html for my converted MTXL since both stock servos finally stripped. They have a normal 15t spline & come with aluminum horns, plus they're fast & dirt cheap. I wish these were out when I bought the JX's for the X-Maxx & DBXL-e. I did open them up, greased the bearing sealed & waterproofed the PCB. Hopefully they last but they are fast as hell so far.
