Shielding my hair from sun heat, using scalp massager as well as using litttllextra cocoonionn shampoo with hair oil have now played important roles in managing my hair fall. It is just 4 more months now and my hair fall is reduced by over 80 percent.

I recently tried this Cocooonionn Hairfall Control Shampoo. My hair is feeling healthier and I don’t see any more hair all around my place now. It’s sulfate-free but it foams up nicely, requiring only a small amount and it cleans your scalp thoroughly. It smells pleasant while providing a healthy shine. Highly recommended for anyone seeking hair fall control.

Thanks so much for this video! I've experienced some severe hair loss and thinning in the past 6 months and it's been kicking my arse mentally. I really needed to hear this, it honestly made my day, especially because I share all the thoughts about hair loss at an adult age (I'm 30) that you've perfectly put into words.

Damn, this video really helped me. I'm 24, 4 months on T and never happier. I never thought that overall mood and behavioural happiness was possible. I've never felt more "right" in my life before. But I am overly worried about losing my hair. I was like you, my hair has been outrageously thick since childhood, I've got so many compliments about it. This combined with being from a family of mostly women, and so I've started to associate hair with beauty. Thick, "perfect" hair is so overly valued by Hollywood and the media, it distorts perceptions of typical natural beauty, for both men AND women. Of course balding is more of a problem for men because of that whole DHT thing, but still. As soon as I started T I felt textural differences in my head hair, which made me freak out about turning "ugly". I'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but I even started to consider getting off testosterone despite waiting for it since I came out at 16. I plan on getting a 23 and Me Health kit for a few reasons-- my mother is adopted so we don't know the genetic health risks on her side of the family, and I'm unsure if I have the bald spot / premature thinning genes. Knowledge is power, etc etc. A lot of trans guys I've seen have started Finasteride and got results as you described (no thanks!). I've also heard Minox/Rogaine works to retain hair AND grow beards without crazy hormonal issues, so at the most I'm going to try that on my head and facial hair until I can grow out a proper beard and then let my head hair do whatever the hell it's gonna do naturally (or maybe even just shave my head and be done with it!). This was the first bit of advice that really helped me embrace the idea of this being a "male" thing that all guys deal with, and even made me smile and understand how affirming all this is. You told the truth without hiding from it. I'm honestly more excited to see where my hair goes from here. Thank you so much.

My dear friend, thank you for sharing your experience so openly, I can relate to all of this! As socialised as female, we are hit harder with expectations I think, of what we 'should' look like. I loved my hair, and when it drastically thinned, it really upset me, but gradually, I have come to see it as yet another affirmation of who I am, a man, who like most others, experience hair loss! Of course we should feel free to try products to help us keep what we have, but ultimately it is about accepting that it is OK, hair or no heair, we are damn fine men!

Thank you for an honest video about this topic. Next year in February I've been on t for 5 years and I am losing hair on top of my head. I wasn't really too worried about it in the start bc I had super thick and wavy hair . I went to my hairdresser (probably 2 year or so ) It was my hairdresser who asked me if I had lost a lot of hair lately, she told me my hair was thin. And that's when it really hit me, bc first I thought it was probably my imagination. It's hard to accept. Ever since childhood people used to say how gorgeous my hair was. Now it's pretty much lifeless...on the top at least.. I can see the scalp which is terrifying....and sad. I miss my hair lol The only place my hair still is super thick and wavy is in the back . BUT if I had to choose ..... I would still choose testosterone.

Losing your hair IS a side effect of the testosterone. Granted family genes influence whether you will lose the hair or not, but if you didn't take testosterone you would still have your hair. So taking testosterone does cause balding in many trans men who have balding males in their family. - FACT.
@FinnTheInfinncible2 жыл бұрын
I know. Watch my video and read my answer because you are missing my point! I'm male and so there was never any option for me than to take testosterone, because my body doesn't produce it on its own. So the fact that testosterone causes baldness was never an issue for me because like for any man, it pretty much cannot be avoided as it's a side effect of being male!
@rl70122 жыл бұрын
You can't say that you are male and had no option but to take T. You were born female, and you chose to transition to male. That was your choice. You had choices. Some trans men do not take T, but you chose to. . You had a choice. You chose to take powerful male hormones and that is why you have lost a lot of your hair. Telling viewers that it is 'being male' and not the testosterone taken that causes baldness is just plain wrong. Trans men who lose their hair do so solely because of taking the testosterone.

@robinlea1755 жыл бұрын
Finn I like you and I love the message in the second half of the video, but there's some things here that are a bit misleading. For a start, DHT is a breakdown product of testosterone, so yes, whilst the type doesn't make a difference, it is the testosterone that causes balding, indirectly. Secondly, trans men are actually more likely to go bald than cis men, it's thought that the balding is carried on the X chromosome which is why men are told to look at their mother's side to see if they will go bald. Thirdly, there's actually loads of evidence behind DHT blockers and the side effects are much less relevant to trans men than cis men in terms of health. Lastly, there's other options that can help slow down balding like minoxidil and using dermarollers, sure they don't always work and they don't work forever, but there is evidence behind them. I relate a lot, I'm mid 20s and I'm rapidly losing my hair. It's nice to see you talking about accepting it and it's something that I wish more guys would talk about, cis or trans, but I do think some of what you said was wrong.
@FinnTheInfinncible5 жыл бұрын
Thanksmy friend. Yes, this is what l mean,its an indirect affect, in that transitioning in itself doesnt cause hair loss, being a man and having a body which runs on testosterone does. Perhaps l wasnt clear but l was meaning that it seems some folks think its their particular brand of testosterone, rather than the testosterone itself. As for us being more likely to lose our hair, there is very little evidence to suggest we are more or less.likely to go bald, but we are guaranteed, like all men to at least experience the thinning of our hair. Some folks do have success using products, l dont deny that, but at best it will only put off the inevitable. I think I've been balanced here in saying that one should of course try these things if they want, but perhaps with the advice of someone professional. I've just seen a lot of folks try things they bought on the internet and done themselves harm. But yes, we do need more people talking g about this because it's ok to be sad about losing ones hair and we should not feel we have to just deal with it , simply because we are trans.

@@FinnTheInfinncible www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/hair-loss/news/20050527/blame-male-pattern-baldness-on-mom "Our genetic data, however, stress the relative importance of the maternal line in the inheritance of [male pattern baldness]." The main gene thought to be connected to balding is carried on the X chromosome. I wouldn't recommend anyone lowers testosterone doses, especially not without talking to a doctor,, but finasteride isn't as high risk as people make out, the main risk that puts off cis men is erectile dysfunction. Even if you're uncomfortable with those risks, which is totally fair, there are other options with minoxidil and dermarolling as over-the-counter treatments which work in some men. I don't think you have to be an advocate for these things but slightly more acknowledgment that many people do successfully reduce balding with these things would've been nice. I realise you mention that there may be things that can slow down balding but you also repeatedly say there's nothing you can do, whilst there's a whole bunch of evidence for things that people can do. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12196747/ www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746236/

This was primarily a video about coming to terms with hair loss and so that was my focus. I only spoke about products and treatments briefly because that wasnt what l wanted this vlog to be about. There are plenty of vlogs out there which speak about certain products, l did not want to do that, mostly because l haven't tried them and have no intention of doing so. I do mention that there are pluses and minuses to treatments but l signposted people elsewhere for advice because l am no expert. As for the studies , it really depends on which journals you read, but results of whether we are more or less at risk of hair loss are mixed at best. Regardless of the study results, as men, whatever we do we are likely at some point to lose some or all of our hair and that was the point of this vlog , to talk about acceptance of that fact and learning to love yourself whether you have hair or not. I'm sorry this vlog has upset you so much, that was far from my intention. If you wish to use a treatment, then power to you my friend! I am most definitely not judging you. As l said in the video, l absolutely believe that it's ok to be worried about hair loss and absolutely ok to peruse treatments for it to slow it down.

Hoping but my dad had thin hair and my uncle on my dad said went bald lol . I think I would shave it if that’s happens lol

If my grandad bladed almost fully, and my dad bladed at the age of 30 (both have no hair) does that mean I’ll most likely bald early too on testosterone when I take my treatment

They say that you need to look to your mums side of the family. If your mums male relatives lost their hair, then you likely will too. Its a common occurance for men, all part of being male!

*When a 21 year old male has Testosterone levels of 900 (I did) or more why do they have great heads of hair? Why can 21 year old men pee 7 feet on demand with Testosterone levels of 900? It's not effecting their prostate either! There is a LOT more going on than just high Testosterone levels. Can anyone tell me the WHOLE hormone story of what is going on in a younger males blood? There MUST be a reason these SOARING high testosterone levels make hair grow fast and shrink the prostate in the younger male population. In fact my hair fell out and my prostate grew by 60% in the 5 year period from ages 31 to 36 EXACTLY when my Testosterone levels dropped by 70%. I went to the Dr. ever year and have my full hormone history in writing from ages 21 to 58 - What am I missing here??? It seems to me young men should not have any hair and their prostates should be ready to explode so it can't be JUST the Testosterone since those levels PEAK from 18 to 28 years of age. What and I missing?*

I hope to go on T one day, but I want to know my chances of going mega bald so if anyone can give me an estimate that would be great 😂 Ok, so, my hair is quite thick and perfectly straight but fair and soft, my grandad on my mum’s side has gone pretty bald but my dad has almost all of his hair. Does it stand a chance? If not I’ll just have to cope with it ;u;

Ah buddy! I understand the worry, but now mine is thinning I'm ok with it, it gives me a very typically male look so I'm ok with that! They do say it's your mothers side that you take after. But as trans men all the hereditary stuff is very different for us and there is still very little research. There are things you can do to help prevent or slow down hair loss, and some treatments that many men swear by so that's always an option . I tried some DHT blocker shampoo and l surprisingly noticed a difference! I made a vlog about it , here you go kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIWufmdmg9Orrs0

Hair loss is heredity on the mother’s side. Doesn’t matter what dad’s hair looked like. Doesn’t matter the gender of the kids. If your mom suffers with baldness, so will you.

Yes and even if she doesn't it's still your mother's side that determins it

When you said "mother's side" I thought you meant like maternal grandfather.

I am 35 and getting ready to start T soon and so worried about my hair. I know its going to be hard to see the middle aged man in the mirror but at least he will be allowed to live as himself for the rest of his days. I'll buys hats lol.
