After seeing this review I decided to buy a stub driver. I normally ride JS surfboards and Pyzels but this would have to be one of the best surfboard I have ever ridden. For starters this is a very user friendly board very easy to surf. It is the best paddling board I have ever owned gets a 12 out of 10. It is extremely stable for a HPSB it goes well in barreling waves and soft fat surf. It generates speed almost immediately from take off its extremely fast in all wave types. The board has a fairly large sweet spot which you don't have to be standing on the tail all the time to make it turn. It's great for front side wraps and cutbacks. You can push on the board hard in more hollow surf good for big snaps and does not catch the harder you push the smoother it feels. The only thing I can say a little negative that it feels a little wonky going super vertical on my forehand (compared to my JS) but Im only 4 surfs in on this board so Im still dialling it in. I also notice Corey in indo his vertical off the tops don't look that snappy but Im sure this is a non issue. Maybe standing further back on the tail may correct this. The wave range is 2 ft to 6ft maybe slightly bigger. I think this is a great board 9 out of 10 maybe a 10 out of 10 hope this helps if your thinking of buying one. Before buying this board I considered a red tiger and sharpeye inferno 72 but they need to be surfed off the back of the board and the stub was more neutral.

Red tiger is sick, def less tail rocker but once you find the sweet spot it’s epic

Thanks. Is it essentially the sub-driver?

ive had both and feel they are very different, the stub 3.0 has more of a driver feel with the outline and they way it surfs

All the Stub 3.0 drivers I've looked at in a shop are round tails, high rocker, and lean volume and appear best for hollow tubes in smaller surf. This board being reviewed is a squash tail, described with more volume, moderate rocker for smaller surf. Totally confused.

Yes, the round tail 3.0 Stub has more upward range than the squash one. I have the squash version but haven't had the chance to surf it yet. Looks sexy in person!

The board is definitely designed for advanced surfers with all the attributes you just described. Thats the trouble when advanced surfers (and Lost) describe them as more relaxed and easier boards. Which technically they are, compared to the driver, but the 3.0stub is 100% not a groveler. If you’re used the driver 3.0 and want a similar feel but for smaller (not overhead) waves, this would be the board. Otherwise Lost makes tons of other true small wave boards or boards for more intermediate surfers

@@finnf.4861 the problem is the board in the video is a squash tail and described to be a totally different 30 stub than what I have seen in the shops which are highly rockered, I've compared the stubs I saw to my Driver 3 and they had more tail rocker, and seemed leaner overall so that's why I'm saying makes no sense to me because the video talks of a totally different type of board than what I've seen in shops. My experience has been round tails are not as fast as squash, tail volumes are lower so they sink more and lose speed and flow over flat sections. Again, totally confusing because what this girl has and what is in the shop stock 3.0 stubs totally different boards.
