Any parks we've forgotten? Where was somewhere in Brisbane (or surrounds) you used to visit during the summertime when you were growing up?

Mirage Grand Pix at Oxley comes to mind. Thank you for this, seeing Amazons again even briefly brought back so many memories.

Aussie world deserved a passing mention, still running, was an interesting choice for a holiday from Brisbane in the other direction than The Gold Coast.

@@UncleDanDota Thanks mate, but this video is about theme parks no longer running. Aussie World are still going.

Great video! Bunya Park was a smaller wildlife park on the Northside. It had koalas, dingoes, emus, wombats, kangaroos etc... plus a maze near the carpark. Kumbartcho Sanctuary & Nursery is now in its place.
@IBISChannel3220 күн бұрын
Ahh... I vaguely remember it. Wasn't it next door to the Ginger Factory in Yandina at one time?
@rachelhovenden366918 күн бұрын
There was no park next to the ginger factory as it’s in the industrial area of Yandina. Growing up on the Sunny Coast Most people remember Super Bee and Burlingham maze. The big one is The Big Pineapple in woombye. It’s so disheartening knowing how amazing the place use to be and now how it’s a mess. The new owners after Fairfax owned it ran it down to the ground. They want the land value. But they can’t sell it as it’s heritage listed. Once they ceased being a functioning pineapple farm it went down hill.

I remember Wild Waters at Logan had awesome slides . We would arch our backs so only our shoulders, elbow and ankles would touch the slide and we would absolutely fly down!

Loved Tops when I was a kid! The dragon coaster and a jungle theme playground was always a highlight of going into Queen St

I loved tops too. That dragon coaster was amazing. I was so upset when it turned into a movie theatre.

I remember the Warrego Waterslide in Haigslea. The big tube slides were a stand-out feature from the Warrego Highway.
@queballaus19 күн бұрын
The tubes were still visible for a while when the motorcycle museum was there, haven’t driven that way in a while so don’t know if it’s still there but I think some of the huts are still onsite and visible

The Woolshed always seemed like a fever dream to be. I was once when I was in primary school, remember having to go down the slides in my school clothes because we weren't told there were slides. I got a sandwich bag of freshly shaved wool to take home and I had it for a couple of years until I had to throw it out. I could rarely find any information about the place when googling and whenever I asked someone about the place, they remember it existing and maybe even visiting but couldn't remember anything other than that.

Brilliant video mate. Been a SEQ resident my whole life and have always loved theme parks. Never knew half of these places you showed existed! I look forward to the next video, and look forward to the inevitable coverage of magic Mountain on the Gold Coast. Never got to go there, but I did go on the chairlift.... after it was relocated to dreamworld after it's closure!. Keep up the excellent work!

The Ferny Grove Waterslides were called ‘Rainbow Valley’. The Woolshed was built later adjacent to Rainbow Valley. Originally Rainbow Valley had two slides. The first was pretty slow but the 2nd had a steep incline and was briefly the fastest waterslide in the southern hemisphere. They later added the third slide which had the habit of spitting people out on a particular corner (I still have the scars).

Samford Grass Ski Park used the name Adventureland, but was NOT ĺocated at Mt O'Reilly Road - it was just off Eaton's Crossing Road north of Samford Village. It did not adopt the name until well after the original Adventureland closed.
