It's an eastern game. I know China has rule where there can be no blood gore or bones showing so difficult to have necro type class. Most of the games lately have been eastern made. There is a few games like Ashes of Creation and Pantheon that are still in development that will have Necromancers. Surprised they actually added blood for NA/EU release

The west looks at death differently than the eastern countries. Still to this day most games population and income come from the east. However games with necromancy type systems don’t do well in those countries so developers look at it as why waste the development time?

I will never understand why these games gender lock classes. I always prefer mage, but these Asian-MMO's want me to play as a melee class unless I want to be a girl. I have nothing against playing as a woman in a video game, but an MMO is a game where I want to play as someone to kind of insert myself as.

@@Drstrange3000 Well I think it's more cultural difference, In Eastern countries Mages/Wizards/Sorcerers/Priest archetypes are generally more popular among female players so they target girls with those classes, every company tries to cut as many corners as possible so releasing male mage for them is not profitable since a very tiny fraction of player will actually play them. I think they will most probably try to include Western mindset in their design philosophy if game gets success after western release, that's also a reason why Lost Ark has such a huge variety of gunners as this archetype is VERY popular in Eastern countries. Male mage is also my favorite archetype btw.

@@RAV3. Every class is a good main class, you just main a class that you find most fun to play for longer period of time. Personally I'm gonna main Sorceress but this class might be less desirable in certain end-game content since the only thing she offers is very high burst damage, which mostly isn't that much sought after, despite having high burst damage her DPS isn't really that much compared to other classes, she has high cast times and delayed ability animations, which makes her prone to certain abilities getting cancelled during cast time due to random Boss mechanic or Boss moving out of the place while you're casting ability, also class is very squishy so you have to always prioritize safety over DPSing. It's true she will probably have more dps than almost every other class (Except ultra lategame Arcana) against static target, but dps against dummies never translates into same dps against actual bosses. Gunlancer for example having one of the lowest dmging abilities is considered good DPS class, since you have good self shield ability, allowing you to disregard most of Boss mechanic and focusing on using abilities off-cd, while having abilities that are instant cast and almost guaranteed to land.

First, they use twitch streamers and twitch is owned by Amazon. Second, alot of content creators like Sywo, fox etc belongs to the RU region. They wanna promote for NA/EU, that's why they use related content creators. Put it like this, Sywos followers already know about Lost Ark, what good, money wise, does it do for Amazon and smilegate? Absolutely nothing. By promoting the game through related region content creators with a strong base of followers and subs, the game will reach out to more people. Gotta think buissness. Smilegate gotta earn those investment cash back now when they finally has decided to bring it to West. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if Naguura or any other promoter will play as long as the game reaches out to as many people as possible who doesn't know about it and are willing to test it. Profit>everything else. And to be fair the game was highly hyped when it was announced for the first time in 2014. It's not like they brought some unknown game over the years.
