In this vlog I show you how to use the launch control settings and how the car reacts to each of them. I don't recommend at any time taking the traction control system off the C7 Z07 and then flooring it because it will get away from you.

Chuck, tried it over the weekend with the Grand Sport. Went as straight as an arrow. First and last time, no doubt it can become addicting. I like the part in the video where you show everyone that without the Traction control and Stabilitrak how things can get out of control. Sort of like "Buyer beware" . Another informative volg. Now that your ZR1 has been delivered, you need to try this at your local drag strip on a test and tune day. There is a lot of satisfaction in a perfect launch, then a time slip to prove what your car can do. Great video! 👍

Very good vid. My '17 Camaro ZL1 is just about at break-in and first fluid change, and I want so badly to get out and play with it and use the launch control. My biggest problems have been: Lack of experience doing it; and finding an appropriate location. I think the second can be the bigger challenge. I am trying to find a similar place - commercial property that is empty on weekends, not a public road. My automotive videos are not well received because that's not what my viewers expect, but I still might have to drag the cameras along when I finally do it. I appreciate your video here, demonstrating the process and results. The Camaro computer and controls are very similar, so it translates. Subbed.

Great video and very helpful info, I just bought a 2017 Z06 and of course I didn't read the manual. What's worse is I had a 2016 Stingray back in 2016 and I am sure it was the same process. This is meant with no disrespect to you but I am disappointed that you couldn't drop it down to the low 3's. Again, I own this same car and have already realized traction is a serious issue. I had a 2017 NSX for a few months (was stolen) and I was able to pull 4 seconds flat in extremely low temps with all 4 tires spinning at launch and then shifting to 2nd gear. Great videos though!

Excellent video...very concise and covered the real information. I just bought a 3k miles '16 vert Z06 few days ago and have not yet really played with her. Looks like fun with the nanny electronics off. I have to say one thing though, your Track/race/sport 3 level launch control run I believe showed 0-60 in 3.8 secs...the published Chevy times are 2.95 with Road and Track saying 3.00...is that because traction control was off?

What tire do you have? My car came with cup2 tires. Whenever I try to launch my car or floor the gas at 2nd gear around 40mph. My car start to lose control. I had to let off the gas. Is it because of my tire?

Chuck, don't you have a mod or two? Maybe a cold air intake? I have a 2017 Z06 stock 1LZ with stage 3 aero and I regularly get 3.1-3.3 seconds in my launch control. Seems strange to have such a difference.

Yep, Have the AFE and of course you can hear the Corsa. The best I have ever gotten not using the launch control is 3.5. Several guys have messaged me that they are lucky to break 4. some of it could be that it was 96 outside and hot and humid doing this same pull in November might get better results. Will have to do another video again when it cools down.

Handed down by my dad who has owned something like 15 corvettes over his lifetime. Track mode with a particular mode selected and TC and ST off using launch control? Or something like sport/track mode and just flooring it? With or without Traction control and stabiltrak?

I got the best times not using launch control at all in sport mode. Launch control in Corvette needs allot of work.

Hi Chuck, AGV! I loved the varied angles for all the 0 to 60+ pulls. I'm still old school in that I love my manual trans, but with the automatic, the Vette truly becomes a Point and Shoot vehicle. If you were to do a quarter mile on a track is there any way you can do a burn out to heat up the tires? I know the new ZL1 comes with a Line Lock. Just wondering if such a feature might exist "hidden" somewhere in all the new technology that just doesn't get spoken of. Save the Wave and have a gifted week.

Hey Peter, I am going to do a video when it cools down because the times will be better but I will also do some with no launch control and the times are very different. If you want a good 60 time in this car you just floor it and I normally get 3.5 or less with warm tires. I don't think there is line lock in the A8 at lease I haven't seen it but I doubt I would use it. Those tires on the back are a little prices at 550 a pop. 😂😂 See you at the next one Peter. 👊
