I think I’d actually like to see that too. A twist they could put on it would be that their children are well-adjusted, generally happy people who seek out the Island to help protect and preserve it, but who soon must fend off a dark force from the outside world (as opposed to the MIB/Smoke Monster from within), and with the guidance and help of the Protector, Walt (instead of Jacob putting people in situations).

I re-watched LOST earlier this year and once finished wondered how the internet felt about the show all these years later. I also wanted to compare my understanding of the show to others and I stumbled across your channel. What an amazing series you have made, I must of watched 17 episodes back to back the first day I started watching. Answered all my questions and theories and many, many more I didn't even think about. Personal favorite is the Mr Eko episode, when you mentioned that Eko wasn't in the church in the flash sideways at the end because he had already made peace and moved on and we had already seen a glimpse of the flash sideways with him and Yemi.....wow!! Great work, looking forward to what you do next!

Some in my family think I am a bit wacky because of my passion for Lost Podcasts and videos. The Lost Explained series has deepen the mythology and enjoyment of the best story in TV history. Now some assumptions I had always had post “The End” 1) Hurley was way more chillaxed vs any other leader 2) Walt and the kids of the Oceanic crew all returned to the island 3) There will be another evil being that will try to exploit the island 4) Ricardo returns to the Canary Islands 5) Jack’s kid in the sideways was real. Kate was pregnant. 6) Dogun’s son will come to the island 7) Desmond spends very little time on the island before getting back home. 8) Rose and Bernard move to Hydra 😊 Thank you for the awesome series.

And even if that scene never happened, I was still in error in implying that the person Kate shot and killed, and that Jack had kicked over the cliff, was Locke's real body. For it was the MIB's real and now mortal body under the guise of Locke that was sent off the cliff. Thanks for the correction! The only thing left unanswered is, where's Christian Shepherd's real body? Jack never got a chance to bury his father.

I can't decide if I would be terribly worried or incredibly excited if a reboot happened. TV has grown so much since Lost and there's a built-in fanbase that would all but guarantee ratings.
@LOSTEXPLAINED108
@LOSTEXPLAINED108 2 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way. If done right, a spin off could be very exciting and full of potential. But in the wrong hands, made by the wrong people, it could be horrible. I’m a big believer that it has to be a continuation rather than a fresh reboot. A 10-episode limited series would be the best place to start, following Ji Yeon and Aaron as the leads who are looking for the island (Ji Yeon trying to discover the truth of what happened to her parents and Aaron looking for his birthplace). Something self-contained and focused. Test the waters. Only bring back a couple of familiar faces from the OG cast too, like Malcolm David Kelley. If the limited series works and is successful, they could do another and use its success to draw back a couple of bigger original cast members for the next year. I think there is absolutely room for more stories, but they have to be told by good writers who understand the show and know how to build on it rather than rehash what’s already happened or undermine it.
@vincentlorusso689
@vincentlorusso689 2 жыл бұрын
@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 that is such an interesting idea. Something more self-contained would be great for building mystery around the next generation. My biggest question is what would be the conflict? Does Walt become a villain over time? Do former associates or enemies of Widmore somehow find the island? There's so much potential.

A: Thank you for this video series! Anyone who knows Lost knows this was a huge undertaking, but it’s also evident it was a labor of love. This was such a satisfying experience and I personally feel that you hit the nail on the head. I’m glad you plan to add to this, because I’m looking forward to more! B: As far as Ajira returning to the mainland, do you think there could be a third option where through time fluctuations they arrive conveniently where they don’t need to answer questions and they don’t need to lie? I haven’t fleshed this out at all, but I do agree an Oceanic 6 scale coverup should be out of the question.
@LOSTEXPLAINED108
@LOSTEXPLAINED108 3 жыл бұрын
It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Ajira leaves the island bubble and appears at an earlier point, perhaps just after it initially disappeared. There is no indication that this happened but because of what was happening with the light in the cave at the same time it is certainly feasible. However, they would still need to explain where all the other passengers disappeared to, and why they picked up presumed dead Oceanic passengers such as Claire and Sawyer. Which takes us back to the first two options -- either they land somewhere in secret and go into hiding, or they land at an airport and go public.

This is a great video. I don't believe that anyone who has watched and loved LOST hasn't speculated about the fate of the survivors. I like the "Shawshank" parallel. The idea of Lapidus pulling of an undetected landing on Mexico's Pacific coast is appealing. And as someone, as you might remember, who has constructed a detailed theory as to why David Shephard makes sense as a real person, I like to think that Kate would have found a way to bring Jack's mother into their lives. Getting to know David would have made the pain over the deaths of Christian and Jack somewhat more bearable for her. I also like the idea of Richard returning to Tenerife as a base. He was so used to spending the bulk of his life in an island environment that it makes perfect sense, although I'm sure he'd also continue to travel the world from time to time. And of course, the whole "LOST: The Next Generation" concept with Ji Yeon, Aaron, Walt, Zach and Emma, Charlie, Clementine, perhaps David, is seductive, and is the one "spin-off" that could actually work at some point in the future. All food for thought.

While I respect the notion of David being Kate’s son… I also think he’d play a bigger role in her flash-sideways if he was. The solution to this and I can’t take credit for the theory… is that David is Aaron. David is pointedly told to stay with Claire about halfway through the finale and then we never see him again. Being confused for Juliet’s son in the flash-sideways works symbolically due to her largely unseen tangential relationship to his birth and her role in life as midwife to an immaculate conception… the serums Ethan is injecting Claire with were all designed by her, based on the original serum for Rachel.

Thank you for so much for all of these remarkable videos! You really explained the brilliance of the story of all six seasons; in my opinion, in a way that I always felt and resonated with myself but couldn’t articulate so clearly until you explained things so coherently and concisely in these videos. I also love how you only used evidence from the show itself to explain the story and the themes of grey morality, the opportunity of redemption and the ideas of moving on that were clearly intended through the whole series thematically by the writers as evidenced through all the the scenes of the show. Using the “Across the sea” episode as a base to establishing the narrative of what the island is and what the light inside the source was and its purpose and why people were fighting over it; as well as who Jacob and MIB/Smokey and Mother were and what their roles were and meant; and how that tied to everything that happened in the rest of the show; was a brilliant starting point to explaining the rest of the mysteries of the show in my opinion. These videos were excellently made, edited, written; and I can’t wait for the rest of the content you plan to make about this show. From a fellow forever lost fan; thank you so much for your great work; and Namaste. Looking forward to new content!

I suppose that love is relative to the person and relationship. You can love more than one person in a lifetime. We can be fairly certain that all the surviving characters had other partners they loved as the years went on. It’s doubtful that none of them ever dated or had relationships going forward. They just weren’t relationships that were as meaningful as the ones they had on the island. I think the relationships between the Losties went beyond love. They were soulmates. Connected beyond the physical realm of experience. Their respective “inner lights” were entwined in both life and death, and beyond.

@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 I agree other than with Sayid, Nadiya clearly seemed more like his soulmate than Shannon who he knew for barely a few months
@LOSTEXPLAINED108
@LOSTEXPLAINED108 2 жыл бұрын
I have a take on the whole Sayid/Nadia/Shannon conundrum. If we forensically analyse the Sayid and Nadia story their relationship was this: they grew up together as children; she liked him but he didn't like her. As adults, they meet again as torturer and prisoner. He literally tortures her for months. They develop a strange co-dependency during these unhealthy, violent interactions. Their relationship at this point is not too dissimilar to Stockholm Syndrome where hostages and their captors develop a bond and feelings of intimacy, even though the bond comes from a dark place. Eventually, he helps her escape, out of crushing guilt. Years after the war, he seeks to find her again. It becomes an obsession. Off the island, when they find each other again, they enter into what appeared to be a happy relationship for a short time. But I'm not sure how healthy that relationship would have been in reality. Think about their awful history. He tortured her! And did terrible things in her name after her death. He killed innocent people. In the flash-sideways, Sayid finally acknowledges that they are not meant to be. The truth is: Nadia brought out the worst in Sayid. His darkest impulses and behaviours stemmed from that relationship. With Shannon, like so many of us in life, we fall in love when we least expect it. And I think both Sayid and Shannon were blindsided by finding a connection to each other, the least likeliest of people, which is what made their coupling so beguiling. We have to acknowledge that Sayid and Shannon were destined to fall in love because their fates were intertwined by forces beyond their control. They were soulmates, connected by the light. The Island guided everyone in both small and large ways. The people on the island were connected beyond the small amount of time they really knew each other. Sayid's relationship and obsession with Nadia was simply so he could follow a path to the Island. Where he would find Shannon and a new beginning. She brought out the best in him. And this relationship led him to grief, then back to Nadia, then vengeance and darkness, and finally, redemption back on the island. In the sideways, Sayid and Shannon help each other to remember these truths about one another. They only knew each other for a few weeks in life, but their souls (like our other Losties) were connected beyond time and space.

Thanks for the explanation videos. I like the discussion about Walt being a Protector. One of the things that frustrated me was how early in the series there was attention given to Walt, his developing relationship with Locke and the game of backgammon and discussions that they had. When Walt was taken their was an idea about how important Walt was. Then he was gone. I understood he was used to manipulate Michael into assisting Ben but it seemed that they were building to something bigger than that. Your explanation ties that up in a satisfactory way.

Some of it made more sense after watching it again but i still had lots of questions. So i did a little research online and gotma few answers. But they need to continue this show and show us everything that happened after jack dies, after kate, sawyer, miles, richard and the piolet left. What did hurley and Ben do. CONTINUE THE SHOW PLEASE!! great video! I love your take on what may have happened after.

One thing I haven't seen anyone discuss is what happened to Ben after the church scene where everyone else moved on. Methinks he stayed on to wake up Danielle and her daughter and that they moved on together later. Since no one could find the island without Jacob's help, Danielle and her daughter were in many ways like the survivors of flight 815.

I agree with the notion that Ben did a Desmond and went on to "wake up" other people connected to his past, including his father Roger Linus, and Danielle and Alex Rousseau, possibly "Others" like Ethan and Tom. I like to think that Ben eventually came to terms with his actions and moved on with this island-based group of people.

Well done! If we're talking about landing the plane somewhere, I think Richard could be very useful with guiding Lapidus to the Herarat Aviation airport we saw in "One of Us" (the one they landed at after flying from Miami), close enough to be on a submarine ride to the Island. It might be quite secluded - possibly controlled by off-island Others/Mittelos.

Great final video, very interesting to consider what happens after it ends. I particularly liked a couple of your ideas for what Hurley might do - namely, spending time ending the whispers by helping those stuck on the island to move on, and making it so that future protectors can only (or, only *have* to) be such for 10 years. I have one question that's always kind of perplexed me, even though it's not particularly important. (I didn't really know in which video to ask it, so I'm just doing so here in the last video.) In the season 4 premiere, The Beginning of the End, Hurley - because of Charlie's warning in his last moments - tells Jack that he's not listening to him, he's 'listening to his friend', Charlie (and thus goes with Locke). But later in the same episode, in the flash forward, when Jack comes to visit Hurley, he tells Jack: "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I went with Locke." Essentially, my question is: Why does Hurley say this? I mean, if he himself regrets having gone with Locke, since almost everyone that did got killed by Keamy's team, that's one thing, fine. But why does he feel guilt and the need to apologize to Jack? Locke (and Charlie) turned out to be right about the freighter people - they weren't who they said they were and certainly weren't there to rescue them. And really, the only reason Locke's group was targeted by Keamy at all was that Ben happened to go with him instead of Jack, and later Alex was forced to lead Keamy to him. (When the camp split, and Ben said, "With your permission, Jack, I'd like to go with Locke," Jack could've easily insisted on Ben staying with him, simply for the reason he gave earlier - not trusting Ben with anyone but himself.) So I'm interested in your thoughts on this. Again, nothing terribly big or important, but it's always bugged me. Thanks!
@LOSTEXPLAINED108
@LOSTEXPLAINED108 3 жыл бұрын
It's a good question. I see there being two reasons for this line -- one that is a narrative explanation and one that is a behind-the-scenes explanation. The narrative explanation is simple. I think Hurley always felt guilty about not sticking with Jack. For three seasons he always went with Jack and backed him up, much like Kate did. And he wanted to apologise to his friend for letting him down during a crucial time for them both (getting off the island). You're right that Hurley made the right call at the right time because Locke ended up being correct about the freighter and its dangers, but going with Locke also led to many deaths even if they were beyond anyone's control. However, Hurley looks back on this differently and feels that because he went with Locke and encouraged others to do the same (and not stick with Jack) it led to their deaths. He feels culpable to some extent. He was certainly the prime reason that Claire went with him to Locke's camp, which led to her ultimate disappearance. The apology comes from him having a lot of time at Santa Rosa to think back on his decisions and regrets about leaving the island. This was one of his biggest. And it just so happened to be when he went against his friend Jack. As for why this line really exists... I agree that the line does feel a little strange considering the context of the moment and episode now that we know everything that happens. By this point in the flashforward, years had passed and the camps splitting seems like a distant conflict. I think the only reason the writers threw this line in was for juxtaposition. We see Hurley going with Locke on the island then a scene later in the future he talks about regretting this decision. It's a way of bridging the flashforwards with the on-island events in the way they used to do with flashbacks. It is also a way for them to build intrigue in first-time viewers and make us ask: "Why is Hurley sorry for going with Locke? What happens to them?" And therefore sets up anticipation for the group's split and what will happen in season four. It works the first time around watching the show, but not quite as much the second time around. There are a few moments in season four that suffer from this. The biggest offender for me is the 'Ji Yeon' so-called subplot with Jin getting the panda from the toy store, which ultimately is irrelevant to everything and is simply there to trick the audience. First time around, it's a sad surprise. Every time after that, it's pointless filler. It is among the few creative decisions from the show that I severely dislike. I'm glad you have enjoyed (and engaged) with this video series. I hope you stick around for the next video series on the channel. Always appreciate hearing your thoughts! :)
@Rocky2418
@Rocky2418 3 жыл бұрын
@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 Yeah, fair enough. I still don't think he should've felt like he let Jack down, since the decision that let down this friend was made because of listening to his other (and arguably closer) friend who gave his life while passing on the intel - and because he turned out to be right and Jack wrong about the freighter people's intentions. Nevertheless, feelings of guilt and regret are just that - personal feelings, based on bonds of friendship, not based on who was right and who was wrong. So yeah, that makes sense. I agree with your thoughts on the Jin/panda subplot - every time except for the first watch, it's pretty irrelevant to anything. But I guess not every creative decision can be a homerun. Yeah, I've definitely enjoyed these videos. I've told some other family members about it, and am already gradually watching through them again with one of them. I'm bouncing around as if the Island was skipping, and I just watched this way after you posted it. But I wanted to tell you that I agree with 80% or more of your speculations. I definitely consider David to have been conceived on the night before Jack and Kate returned to the Island, and to be -- as Pinocchio would say -- a real boy. Wonderful job. I don't think they revealed to the world that they were alive, although they would have to their loved ones. I believe Hugo provided them all with enough money to "disappear". I think Frank and Miles would go back almost immediately. Frank because he was conspicuously dead to the world, and moving to the Island would at least allow him to continue flying, and Miles because the Island truly changed him, and he would feel he belonged there. I believe all of them would go back to the Island eventually, including many other characters from the show connected to them, to form a society dedicated to community, spiritually connecting with the Source, serving the Island, and enjoying the rest of their lives. BUT, I actually may prefer your scenario of having the younger generation take over, without the old characters. Thanks, again, for your amazing work!

I'm so pleased that these videos helped to redeem the ending in your eyes. That is a big part of the mission accomplished! As for other series that I recommend, I've never found anything else quite like LOST. But, generally speaking, there are lots of other shows that I love. It depends what you're looking for. If you're after something similar to LOST then it's slim pickings. A lot of mediocre shows have tried to riff on the mystery of it without capturing the magic. The most interesting show that I have seen that has LOST-vibes is a British miniseries called 'The Third Day' with Jude Law. It's a one-and-done six part show about a mysterious isle off the coast of England where people are drawn to. Very strange and suspenseful little show. Loved it. Otherwise, off the top of my head, some of my preferred shows in general include: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (classic 90s genre mash-up show that mixes teen drama with horror, action and comedy); 24 (real-time action thriller series starring Kiefer Sutherland); The Leftovers (LOST creator's follow-up show, which is much weirder and darker but also brilliant); Luther (the British detective show that made a star of Idris Elba); and Line of Duty (another popular British thriller series about corrupt cops). I was a big fan of Breaking Bad too, but I feel like everyone has seen that show now! Those would be my go-to recommendations generally speaking. Nothing quite like LOST but lots of groundbreaking and compelling shows out there.

I suppose there will always be some unanswered questions. A couple that come to mind are as follows. 1/ Why did Ben go to the area of Rousseau's camp when he got caught in her rope net trap (where Sayid cut "Henry" down early in the series)? 2/ Why was there never any evidence of pregnant women from the island dying in their third trimester as was claimed/feared? Surely this would have at least affected Sun of the characters we were familiar with.

Ben either intended to get caught in order sell his story. Or he accidently got caught but then used that capture to create his balloon survivor facade. Either way worked for him in order to infiltrate the Losties. My own unanswered questions have to do with Charles Widmore and Eloise Hawking and their back story. How did they originally get to the island? And how did Richard travel to the Mainland U.S. in 1956 without a Dharma Submarine?
@jackdavinci

Claire didn't conceive on the island and was near the end of her pregnancy when she arrived. Sun conceived on the island but left very early in her pregnancy. It's possible though that Sun wouldn't have been affected anyway. Women were giving birth without issues during the Dharma times but dying before and during Juliet's stay. So likely the issues were caused by the Swan. After Desmond activated the failsafe, the Swan probably was no longer damaging to pregnancy.

Well done in analyzing and understanding the show. But in the real world, redemption can come quickly. If you've done bad things for 20 yrs, you don't need to have penance for the next 20 yrs. You are redeemed when you've permanently changed your ways, however long that takes, which could be short.
@LOSTEXPLAINED108

We do see examples of that in the show. Sayid on the submarine for instance, or Ben choosing to spare Ilana and join the good guys officially. Those are moments where characters make a choice to do or be good. It's not about religious redemption or some mystical force making the character serve penance for years, it's about how the character feels about their past actions and how they wrestle with their own guilt. For some, that struggle never ends. Self-perception -- how these people view themselves -- is a big part of the character conflicts of LOST.

Ben already had the ability to speak to his dead mother. I like to think Hurley helped him rediscover and develop his lost and latent powers. Unlike Miles, Ben’s powers as a child are even seen to be basically equivalent to Hurley’s. Which is an especially nice dynamic for their working relationship and shared responsibility to train Walt and the next generation of Island custodians. Also, Ben could definitely think of some really cool dead historical figures to talk to. More so than laying anyone else to rest, I think he’d find great solace in talking to inspired generals, brutal dictators and conflicted authors with complicated lives. Basically as his own form of personal therapy, but also probably so he could write intimate historical biographies.

How did the "Others" or the authorities even know? There were no witnesses to the crime. Nothing tangible to tie the murder to Sawyer except maybe the bullet with his imprint on it. The only issue I have with this idea is that Sawyer -- a man allegedly wanted for murder who died in the plane crash -- would be a huge media story. After the Oceanic Six return to the real world, they would be told and find out all of the drama surrounding their plane crash. Including that they had a rockstar aboard with them when they went down. And certainly they would hear about the fact they had been on the same plane as a murderer fleeing the country. Reporters might say: "Aren't y'all lucky he didn't survive the crash with you guys?" Yet this is never brought up in the flashforwards or upon the Oceanic Six's return to the island. Kate never warns Sawyer: "They know about what you did." The Oceanic Six would definitely have heard about this. There is no indication that Duckett's murder was ever connected to Sawyer by the cops. The man was shot, seemingly randomly, out in the middle of nowhere with no witnesses. The most likely way that The Others attained this information was no doubt from having their external agents track down Sawyer's associate Hibbs for interrogation. Remember, Sawyer was a con man with various identities so coming by data on his life story would not have been easy. They needed to talk to known associates, no doubt found through accessing his criminal records. Hibbs would have been the only one to know about who killed Duckett.

@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 Right, as I suggested. Hibbs, the only guy to likely blab about it. Especially since he would not welcome Sawyer coming back to the U.S. for another meeting with him. Still begs the question why the Others would even pursue this line of inquiry in the first place. What made them suspect Sawyer's involvement with Duckett's murder? Sawyer had no reputation for being violent. Nor any connection to Duckett whatsoever. The only link was that Sawyer was inexplicably in Sydney at the same time as the murder. But so were millions of others. The only possibility is that Hibbs accidently blabbed about it while he was being interrogated by the associates of the Others on a completely different inquiry about Sawyer's background. Case solved!😁

Have been thinking and am struggling to think through how option 2 could play out. It seems in particular Eloise surely has to end up being implicated After the Ajira flight goes missing, the media and authorities would have gone nuts at the idea that 5 oceanic 6 members decided to board the same plane and it went missing; they would be main suspects and their movements in the weeks before the flight fully looked at. The meeting at the church would definitely be discovered and surely Eloise Hawking/ the lamp post implicated. Likewise I don't see how they could explain their ordeal upon landing without telling the authorities how they knew which flight to catch, and therefore about EH. What would that mean for the losties explanation? is is possible to hide the dharma initiative from the authorities, they are directly traceable in the real world ?I imagine she would have destroyed the Lamp post and gone into hiding.
@LOSTEXPLAINED108
@LOSTEXPLAINED108 3 жыл бұрын
I don't know how much Eloise Hawking would be dragged into the equation. After all, did any of the surviving Ajira passengers really know anything about her? Kate never met her or went to the church/Lamp Post, nor did any of the returning islanders such as Sawyer and Claire. However, the complexities of their return remain, if they were to go public and not go into hiding. I don't think it would be easy sailing for them but if they presented a united front as a group -- including Captain Lapidus and previously thought dead passengers from Oceanic 815 -- it would be hard to charge them with any kind of new crime per se. Their version of events, as wild as some of it will sound to authorities, should have group consensus and support. However, working out how the authorities would handle such a story is the real headscratcher. Would they put everyone into custody for a year whilst trying to get to the bottom of this? Would they cover it up and try to seek out the island? Would they let them all go and just have to accept the story? There are many different possibilities. Enough to make up a whole season's worth of drama. While the other version of events -- where they all simply go into hiding forever -- is a much cleaner way of handling questions/scenarios surrounding Ajira's return to the world, it also seems to contradict the implications of the finale and some of the character arcs. Kate would still be on the run. Sawyer would not be able to go fully legit. Claire and Aaron could never really live normal lives again. The lies of the Oceanic Six would continue, etc. So, it's a really tough call to make as to what Ajira did after it left the bubble. Both versions -- truth or hide -- throw up all sorts of ripple effects and questions. It's just as thought provoking as the questions left over from the sideways, if not more so.

@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 I know it's not the most imaginative option, but what if they legitimately died in a plane crash? I mean they're plane probably doesn't have a lot of fuel left, has already sustained 1 crash and they are still near the island bubble, so maybe they go a little ways, and crash into the ocean. Again, not a very happy ending, but at least they get to the flash sideways world pretty quickly.

Christians whole message to Jack was to let go. That was the beauty of Hugo’s rule- as is the core of leadership and modern political life in the world. You shouldn’t want it and identify with it. You should be a steward of power and carry it as far as you can in your time- and then completely let it go. Both MiB and Jacob had a hard times getting over themselves.

I hope to God that Lost never gets a sequel treatment. Or a reboot. We all know how Disney would handle that.

it can be done well but only with Walt, Hurley and Ben storyline on the island

I believe the cork was installed pre-Egyptian era. The cuneiform inscriptions on the cork predate the Egyptian ones. The cork was installed before Jacob's brother became a smoke monster. Smoke monsters protected The Island before Jacob & his brother, their game doesn't affect whether or not more can be created.

Cuneiform script was in use for over three thousand years right up to the second century AD. There were still civilisations actively using it into Jacob and the Man in Black's era. There is no cork in 'Across the Sea'. We know this for several reasons, which I explore in depth in other videos. But perhaps the most important confirmation comes from the showrunners themselves. They said the following in their commentary for 'Across the Sea': Damon Lindelof: Right, and one thing worth mentioning here that is informative on a commentary now that we're into it, is that it seems like the golden light is much brighter in this episode here than it is in the finale, Carlton. Carlton Cuse: Yes. Damon Lindelof: If I were to have a theory that that apparatus we see in the finale with the stone sticking in the middle of the pool that's sort of blocking the light... maybe that apparatus wasn't created until *after* this event. Carlton Cuse: I think that's an incredibly likely deduction, Damon.

@@LOSTEXPLAINED108 Hard to argue with that! I had never really bought into the "Jack becomes the new smokey" theory, but thought it could be a possibility. Thanks for making that more clear, I really enjoy your videos.

I think it's time for Kate to finally face the consequences of her actions. would end up spending more than a minor stint in prison upon her return. Not only did she break her probation, but she had also lied about Aaron being her son for nearly three years. And then there is Carole Littleton, who would not forget that Kate had kept Aaron from her from 2.5 years. The last time Kate's status as a "heroine" was bandied about, the law was reluctant to convict her, especially since her mother Diane didn't testify against her. Kate can still face another trial over the murder of Wayne Jensen since she was never officially acquitted of the crime. But there is also the New Mexico bank robbery charge, for which she can definitely be prosecuted. There are plenty of witnesses to that crime. And considering the lie about Aaron, I don't see the law being reluctant to prosecute or convict her, regardless of her reason for returning to the island. Yeah, I see Kate spending at more than five years in prison upon her return. And in your alternate scenario regarding the Ajira survivors, why do you have Claire and Aaron with Kate and not Carole Littleton? Also . . . does this mean Sawyer will never face prosecution for the murder of Frank Duckett in Australia?

I followed all your videos with attention. Since 2013 I'm developing my own sci-fi story, "Blue Angel Series" (there's a channel on KZbin about it). It's influenced by LOST and also by my experience studying Physics. I rewatched LOST recently, and it was great to find your work to review some topics. I also have the book "Unlocking the Meaning of LOST" by Porter & Lavery, but it covers only one and a half seasons, and it's a little bit superficial. I hope you could organize all your content in a book someday. About spin-offs and sequels, I hope they won't be done in the next 20 years at least. Unfortunately, in my opinion, we are experiencing today an era of extremely poor creativity and the advancement of a political agenda that permeates everything. The story is now secondary, and the most important thing today is to abide by this agenda. As you said in the video, it's time to move on and write something new. And independent. Congratulations on the work here.

Interesting idea regarding the spinoff series. However, I would love a prequel with the ancient Egyptians and/or some other much older time ok the Island.
