For those that have not bikepacked you just can't comprehend how impactful the kindness of strangers really is. If we were all that nice to each other the world would be a very different place. Always love your videos.

@@JeroenBoterman I mean, this is so true. Can’t argue. But maybe we notice the kindness of strangers more when cycling through a foreign country?
@blahqwe22 күн бұрын
@@petergarner I think that's true, life is so different at home, being abroad on a bike, with loads of gear generates curiosity and kindness from others. People take pride in helping enhance your experience and showing you local sights, that only locals would probably know about. I say this as someone that cycled across the US last year and I really got blown away by kindness.

@kubabud22 күн бұрын
The bamboo things Francis is walking past at 16:15 at the night market are sweet sticky rice. You can buy them in many places, take home, crack them open the next day and they will still be very good. Perfect substitute for energy bars and 7/11 sweets, much healthier. They will keep you going all day on the bike. Depending on the area you can also find the version wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. Those are probably better bought in the morning and consumed the same day.

Street market, not fair. They are all over Thailand and always a treat. You can eat bugs, grubs and more! Yes, “krep” for male and “ka” for female. Always use after “kapkun” or “Sawadee “ for respect. You guys are doing great. I don’t know how you knock out the miles in the heat! The food is better than India and Vietnam. How does the riding and other drivers compare? You can answer when you are farther south I hope. Cheers from the USA.

That bird you find to be taunting you is the Asian Koel. They are brood parasites otherwise cuckoo bird. They mainly parasitize crow nests. The male and female calls are different. Usually, the calls happen in the evening and very early in the morning. Some people find them very irritating especially when the calls are in the predawn hours.
