Some random trivia (I'm sorry I don't know how to shut up when it comes to Haikyuu OTL): - cool to see you guys admire the Ajinomoto training center where Kageyama trains, cause the mangaka was given a pass inside for research and interview the youth team coach before getting to this arc! - there's a fun bonus illustration in the manga where Goshiki also tried sticking his head into the mats like Hinata, probably to figure out why he did it and whether it'd give him some mojo or not lmao - Haikyuu has been collaborating with Mikasa and Molten for quite a while! In the first few chapters they had to censor the companies' names and logos on the balls, but 88 chapters in (2 years after the manga started, when the anime was already announced) they got the permission from Mikasa! There days the official Mikasa twitter account is one of the biggest Haikyuu lobbies out there, they tweet about them rather often x) - the reason Noya called Hyakuzawa "Manzawa" was cause "hyaku" in his name means 100, but Noya forgot and thought that it might've been 10000 ("man"). The part where Tanaka cheers Hinata up and tells him to learn a move or two at the training camp always gets to me with Hinata's expression when he can't find it in himself to explain that he doesn't even get the chance to play there x_x

Even the Haikyuu!! stage plays were done in collaboration with both Mikasa and Molten as well (and they use the actual balls onstage). And yes, it's always so cute when Mikasa's official Twitter account posts about Haikyuu!!

About the drop in quality people talk about, it’s with the animation mostly. Most people seem to really like the new art style, but there are a lot of sections of animation that is below the first 3 seasons in quality. You guys might notice it later when there is more action.

For sure, the new style is very good and more faithful to the manga, which I've always enjoyed more with how it carries the weight and flow of the characters movements, but a lot of people seem to be conflating the new art style with the animation quality; which was caused from separate issues with the pandemic and such, which has nothing to do with the new style in itself.

Just a bit too many stills and less fluid action compared to the previous seasons and the physics are kinda off, which can be jarring. Nevertheless, the season is still full of cool highlights. I just hope the next season will bring the quality in smooth animations back. The new art style is just a matter of taste imo.

While season 4 definitely has a few drastic dips in quality, I think the new deisgns have the highest highs animation-wise. The quality might not be as consistent, but the good stuff is a lot more expressive, in my opinion.

The Hinata arc is about him basically learning to think instead of just act. But what you said about the Shiratorizawa team was correct and a testament to Kageyama's ability. When the guy who scored like 30 points in the final match is not even worth standing with other young prospect, it means the setter (who clearly made those point possible almost by his own) is a monster. Thats why we are seeing Kageyama in the national team, and Hinata as a ball boy.

Just now i understood the joke noya did on 8:46, calling him manzawa instead of hyakuzawa. Man means 10.000, while hyaku is 100 in japanese, so probably that's the link he made, but mistook the number.

People should just really shut up about "decline in animation" until specific episodes because aside from that one time in the Inarizaki match, it's not even noticable, or otherwise is not there. UGHHHHHH

I think I mentioned it in the comments of another video, but ball boys are very important parts of high level practice. A ball rolling onto the court unchecked can be incredibly dangerous if landed on or ran on top of, even as far as causing career ending injuries in extreme cases. Of course one way to prevent this is to always be on the lookout for balls you've hit, and make sure no one else is doing something that could send the ball your direction and become dangerous; but this is very distracting, and can inhibit players abilities to fully focus on the practice. Therefore, good ball boys are very important to ensure the players are completely safe and undistracted from their practice.

I don't think they're expecting him to fail, but there is certainly doubt, because Hinata bulldozed and created trouble for his team, his school, other players, another school, and another training camp. He went there with no plan, and no goal. On the positive side, it IS headstrong and motivated of him to do so, but he definitely didn't put any thought of what he's supposed to do after he crashes the party. He didn't even go to his own coach to ask for guidance; to ask what he's supposed to do to improve his individual skills. Since he decided this on his own, he has to prove it to himself and everyone he created trouble for, that this is worth it.

I don't even think everyone's expecting Hinata to fail! I think he flashes back to these specific moments partially because he's trying to get inspiration from them for some sort of plan, and partially because they reflect his own anxieties. For example, Takeda sensei's line could represent Hinata's insecurity about his basic skills. He knows that he was given his role on the starting lineup because of his insane spikes with Kageyama, but that he's pretty mediocre at the rest. That's the whole reason he's so desperate to catch up! But I think Takeda meant it more in the sense that he was giving a scolding about crashing the training camp and trying to end on advice for the future. You can't take short cuts (sneaking into a place where you weren't invited) if you want to succeed in the long run.

the quality dip is really just the animation in like... 2 or 3 later episodes. the season is still amazing and even the animation in those scenes, i think its understandable because they were doing it during the pandemic and shit was going down, but a lot of people hate it. i personally dont mind it, but im in the minority with this so who knows

if you noticed, everything that they said about hinata may seem link an insult but it's not. For example when tsukki was chewing him out, he said don't waste 5 days of practice" meaning he somewhat believe that hinata will learn something if he focuses. Second is Ushiwaka may sound like he was chewing hinata with the "What are you even doing?" especially with his deep voice and straight words. but that was actually the wake up call hinata needed at the end when he put his head in the foam or mattress hinata said the same thing like "what the heck am i even doing" meaning ushiwaka probably knows that hinata can learn more by being a ballboy

I know which youtuber/volleybol athlete you're talking about I've seen that video about a year ago. If anyone is curious, his name is Erik Shoji and his youtube channel: kzbin.info And ofcourse the video they were talking about: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i32TlJ-PbbalfJo Personally I love his videos. He is reacting and analyzing volleybol videos. And his content is really entertaining and educational at the same time.

5:30 the line from kageyama there is often misunderstood. It wasn’t about hinata being trash and wondering how he’s even been playing for 3 years. He’s upset because if hinata had played a game year 1 kageyama could of found him 2 years earlier and they could be that much stronger
@iamai_iggs
@iamai_iggs Жыл бұрын
2 things: 1. only the audience was privy to that thought process from Kageyama, Hinata was not, so it's understandable that Kageyama, terrible at communicating as he was, hurt Hinata with those words, and it's understandable that Hinata misunderstood because even Hinata's teammates in junior high did when Kageyama said it. 2. this is manga spoiler it's understandable if the audience doesn't catch the nuance in Kageyama's words at this point, because it's not until we get Kageyama's backstory and what his grandpa said that we're supposed to fully understand Kageyama's loneliness before meeting Hinata, plus the callback to coach Ukai "How cruel" line when he first saw their freak quick.

@@iamai_iggs I’ve never read the manga and got that the second it was said first time I watched it. Was obvious kageyama was impressed by him and wondered where he had been and why he didn’t know about him. The how cruel was pretty obvious to me as well

@@christopherholfeld8137 what I meant is it might not have been obvious to others, especially anime-only, since it's a very fleeting line, plus the first impression of kageyama is that he is very blunt and arrogant so not surprising that Hinata and some audience interpreted that way

Washijo-sensei is trying to make hinata feel what they did to him as well like having the skills is not enough you will lost to someone who had height and power like hyakuzawa (2 meter guy) I know hinata skills in volleyball is stiil not good and still reliant to kageyama but still having hyakuzawa invited and not hinata impliying that height and power will better than someone who is small and skilled (I'm not saying hyakuzawa didn't deserve it). I still think hinata deserved to be invited it just that washijo-sensei was the one who has a final say to this, even the johzenji coach and the other coach totally they want him but still great narative to have to hinata since he have always been thoughtless/tunneled vision to some things like sometimes too much passion can make you blurry to some things (like what he said to coach ukai like everyone is going up ahead to him so he needs to do something to catch up no matter what the consequences are but that action lead him to caused trouble to other people) so having him done that to crash into camp and make everyone be mad at him is a great way to let hinata calm down a little bit since he's coming to aggressive that caused a lot of trouble to others but in the end him realize greater things made him what he will become in the future like a ninja 🤔
