The most impressive is really the sound design. They sell the speed, weight and impact of the ball so well. It's one of those filmic techniques, like editing, where you don't really "notice" it unless you are particular about it, but when it's wrong you really feel it. The sound is so amazing for this anime AHHHH
@BOLDcast2 жыл бұрын
So true I was watching some reactions from volleyball players and they were pretty focussed on the technical aspects of the matches, but what really made them jump was the sound design during big impacts from serves and stuff It’s so well done

Ushijima is is basically the best player in the prefecture, one of the best of the nation, he's even in the national junior team. He's simply better than Hinata and everyone else in the match. He showed us he's good in everything, even defence, not the strong suit of such kind of offensive opposite players. Hinata is the main character, but every other episode we see him struggling because he's lacking in some aspect of the game, being service, block, defence, even attacks without Kageyama. So, Ushijima is right, Hinata confidence has no basis. That's the cruel reality. He has confidence in his own resources and he's very rational in his debates with the other players in his team. He's not cocky, he's stating facts. Then again, they are two good teams, and we know from experience that technical and physical ability is not everything in a team sport and especially in volleyball, where there's no direct contact between you and your opponents. You'll gain or lose 5 points in a minute, if you are not there mentally. One more thing about Ushijima: sometimes he avoids the block, sometimes he passes over it. He's not just strong, he's always watching and exploring his alternatives to maximise the effort. The setter gives him lemons, he make Sprite Zero with them. Sorry for the long comment, it's just season 3 carries this debate about "who's right" between Hinata and Shiratorizawa's big hitter: we obviously hope for karasuno to win, but there's no way Hinata is better than Ushijima in any aspect of the sport. Once we acknowledge this, we can begin to fly with our crows

just a heads up since only a handful amount of reactors catch up on it but ushijima is honest not arrogant, and whatever he tells he genuinely believes in it, even when he said that he hated confidence with no basis to hinata, he's purely speaking factually, hinata is yet to have his basics down yes he does some insane things on the court but the main reason he has been recognized till now is because of the quick, and the quick wouldnt be possible if a setter as skilled as kageyama wasnt partnered up with him, and hinata said that he will win against ushijima [again its ushijima im talking about not shiratorizowa] a national player from the youth olympics team, so him disliking hinata's baseless confidence comes from a place where he knows that in the professional leagues you need to hammer down all the foundational plays of recieving blocking and spiking in an above average level, Hinata's spiking speciality lies mostly lies on kageyama's sets, his blocks are still on an average level, and though he does insane saves at times, we still havent seen him do a solid recieve in matches [ recieves which has a good platform basis], this is not to discredit hinata at all but to tell that ushijima isnt being wrong when he tells that, people recognize hinata for his instinctive plays or the quicks with kageyama, and ushijima has played in professional leagues to distinguish between plays that happen at a spur of the moment or is actually learnt in days of practices.

Lmao right. Kind of a pet peeve of mine when reactors instantly hate Ushijima for speaking facts about Hinata
@termindterguta35142 жыл бұрын
To let y'all understand ushijima point of view Imagine training for your whole life, becoming really powerful after so many years of hard training. Training so hard that you became one of the top 3 spikers in whole Japanese high school, you also are the ONLY players that plays in nationals under 19 AND THEN a tiny little dude, with no basics comes to you saying "I'm gonna beat your ass". Who is the arrogant here? A dude who has ALL the reasons to think that HE IS STRONG or someone who only plays volleyball for 4 years and thinks that he will win everything? As you can see from season 1 and 2, when kageyama isn't playing, most of the times neither Hinata is playing. At this point, Hinata alone is a bit over the mediocre level Oh, by the way, I'm not saying that Hinata is the evil here

Yeah it’s so funny cause when shiratorizawa was first mentioned in season 1, and during the first Karasuno vs Seijoh match, I called the outcome of this current season based on the dynamic between the three teams by comparing them to dbz lol Karasuno = goku Seijoh/oikawa = vegeta Shiratorizawa/ushijima = frieza And it worked out pretty much the same way lol

What I like about the "villains" in haikyuu is that they mess up all the time too, the show does a great job at making every character, no matter how powerful they may be, feel human, so when the opponent messes up and we're able to get a point off of it it doesn't feel out of character, or unearned.

The reason Ushijima doesn't receive balls is cz if he receives it will be a little harder for him to spike, that doesn't mean he doesn't receive when he needs too (like here in the case with Hinata, so its not like he only received it cz Hinata spiked it, he received it cz it was fast when it came towards him and the other player wasn't able to react that fast)

It's ironic that those who have the actual guts to challenge or fight Ushijima head on are the small ones. Hinata and Nishinoya are basically a thorn against Ushijima. (I didn't mention someone to prevent spoiling.) And it's actually cool that they really play like how their animal symbol is. Like the Eagles who are big and strong enough individually. And the Crows who specializes fighting in numbers.

I think on 5-Set Matches, they're giving technical timeouts so that otha than giving the players moments to strategize, they can also have a breather for a few seconds. Considering that the game is already tiring as it is for 5-Sets and they just had few limited Timeouts. Btw, it's normal to put those TTOs on 8/16 point mark cause they probably won't get that on Set point other than the Timeouts that the coach calls.
@joemadrid97062 жыл бұрын
Hinata is still a clumsy player. Sure he is getting better with the spikes but he lacks so much. He lacks in technique, he does not know how to receive, set and his blocks are below average for a middle blocker due to him being short. He is a starter because of the quick, because of Kageyama. Ushiwaka is a national level player and he actually respected Hinata when he challenged him but he started hating him because he saw him play in the first play and it turned out that he is nowhere near Ushiwaka's level, and yet he challenged him.

@@doktorcz4203 What I mean is that the technical time outs were introduced like a decade ago in the olympics, but they are not a thing anymore, almost nowhere. Like, I follow most of the european continental competitions both male and female, also a couple of leagues and, in all of those, technical time outs were abandoned many years ago. As I said they were essentially brought because in that way televisions had some fixed slots for advertising. And obviously it's better for them to fractionate evenly the set. It's generally a good thing to have time outs available, but technical ones are borderline useless, because you don't need to rest, in time outs, you need to address some problems or situation that emerged that particular rotation, or specific matchup and the like. So, maybe you are referring to usa college volleyball, maybe they still use those timeouts in there.
@JacopoBasanisi2 жыл бұрын
I have to add something: I'm watching the VNL right now, apparently they have a technical timeout at 12, so half the set.
